April 1, 20223 yr 40,067 for RHCP's last album in 2016 and 71,858 for the previous in 2011. Hard to predict when they release albums so infrequently but I don't think there will be as big of a drop off as last time. I assume they will do pretty well on vinyl and it's their first album with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006 so that might work in its favour too. I'm saying around 30k.
April 1, 20223 yr I wouldn't be surprised if they did similar or better numbers to their last album with the hype around Frusciante's return (but then again it has been quite a while). That Blade Brown/K-Trap album came out last week didn't it? Presuming they did a late push for some extra digital sales. Lol at J. Cole getting an artist credit on that Dreamvllle mixtape despite only being on 3 songs on it. That's probably the only release from this week that I'm interested to hear (at least out of the ones in that post) but I assume it'll go in the compilations chart like 'Revenge Of The Dreamers III' did. Would be cool if Carpenter Brut, Confidence Man and PUP chart somewhere though (the latter got to #60 with their last album).

April 8, 20223 yr Because more people have bought their album  There's a lot of hype for it! NOW are a bigger name than Wet Leg Edited April 8, 20223 yr by Hadji
April 8, 20223 yr Author NOW are a bigger name than Wet Leg Yes, a 40-year old music brand is certainly more popular than a new indie band... But the numbered NOW albums are clearly massively on their way out in popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if Wet Leg also sell more physicals than NOW.
April 8, 20223 yr Yes, a 40-year old music brand is certainly more popular than a new indie band... But the numbered NOW albums are clearly massively on their way out in popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if Wet Leg also sell more physicals than NOW. It needs a strong tracklist. If they get me to compile their albums, I’ll do a very good job of it and they’ll be selling loads
April 8, 20223 yr I'm not sure that a few minor tracklist tweaks would save what is quite clearly a concept that the market has dried up for :kink: Hoping for a decent chart position for Kae Tempest this week. Their last 2 albums both made the low top 30, hopefully top 20 may be a reasonable target for this one? Depending on physical availability ofc.
April 8, 20223 yr Author Yeah, if anything I think they’d sell even better with more Radio 2 hits (which I assume isn’t what you’d want on there based on your previous posts, Hadji)
April 9, 20223 yr Yeah, if anything I think they’d sell even better with more Radio 2 hits (which I assume isn’t what you’d want on there based on your previous posts, Hadji) I’d pick out a few R2 artists if they had a #1 album but I wouldn’t fill up near enough an entire disc with them. For instance, I’d have included Sam Fender’s new single seeing as he had a #1 album and I’d have kept Bastille on there. It’s funny how they love Dua Lipa but they never included her latest single on there Edited April 9, 20223 yr by Hadji
