Pete's Chart Commentary

Happy new year everyone! And we start the year with what is probably one of the most confused charts I've ever made, as whilst some Christmas songs tumble down the chart, quite a few have made upwards progress as well, in particular Tom Walker who soars from #38 to #1 this week! Needless to say his drop from the top may well be a sight for sore eyes next week. Below that we have a new entry from Rea Garvey, marking the only non-Christmas new entry in the Top 40. Sheppard however do manage quite a gain with their own Christmas song which shoots up to #22. And, of course, the first phase of re-entries begins.
