Posted January 11, 20223 yr Revealed by The Sun that this is her next single from her upcoming second album due out this year. On another called "Let Love Go", which is expected to be her next single, she sings: "Staying by the phone, hoping you'll call, only to find you never missed me at all. So I need to let love go, cause it ain't giving me what I deserve." A teaser of the track (the last one) could be listened to below. View this post on Instagram
January 11, 20223 yr Hope this song is more R&B again, Let Them Know I thought was a bit cheesy and inferior to the likes of Don't Call Me Up/Mad Love. Edited January 11, 20223 yr by AuldSnakeJaw
January 11, 20223 yr That teaser really isn't doing it for me. It's too low key, she needs a song that packs a bit of a punch to come back with. I just don't think she suits this sound and production and I wish (lol) she had stuck to the rnb/pop sound as she totally owned it.
January 11, 20223 yr "Overthinking" is my favourite of the three snippets, but very excited to hear this in full.
January 11, 20223 yr 90% sure this article is just fake, they’ve just used all the lyrics that have leaked publicly and I don’t think they have any actual info seeing as money on me is an old scrap lmao
January 17, 20223 yr She’s teasing it on TikTok so looks like it’ll be the next single. The snippet is growing on me so I’m getting some hope again for this era.
January 19, 20223 yr I like the more soulful R&B direction, but it's lacking a bit of oomph from the snippets so far.
January 20, 20223 yr apparently Mabel might be in a similar situtation to Raye and leaving the label due to their delay in releasing her new album :/
January 20, 20223 yr i can see why polydor aren’t confident of let love go tbf It’s a huge next single for Mabel following her recent underperformances, polydor really seem to not want to release albums though
January 20, 20223 yr I hope she does leave Polydor, they have no clue how to help their pop artists. Just look at Raye, Jesy Nelson, Years & Years. All messes. They're really fumbling the bag with Mabel which is quite impressive seeing how much she was smashing back in 2018/19 Edited January 20, 20223 yr by Frenchie
January 20, 20223 yr I don't think let love go is even a single to be honest, she teased it with two other songs that seem like album tracks a while ago and all three have singe been teased on tiktok, it seems like she's just teasing them to put pressure on the label for the album not for being a single imo (Still think it was meant to be Good Luck) If she does leave polydor does anyone know what happens regarding her songs already made for the album? can they be sold to a new label or?
January 20, 20223 yr If she does leave polydor does anyone know what happens regarding her songs already made for the album? can they be sold to a new label or? I'm fairly sure she'll lose them all. Polydor would have payed for all the studio time and writers and producers so doubt they'd just let her take all the songs with her. They just need to get more singles out there. Leaving it longer and longer isn't gonna help. Its beginning to resemble Zara Larsson's 4 year long Poster Girl era. They also should have saved Tick Tock and West Ten to add onto this album to guarantee some sales rather than High Expectations which was already doing well.
January 20, 20223 yr plus Mabel doesn't write her own songs solo, they out her with teams and the team comes up with a song and she writes three commas, or they buy the songs from someone else, so the songs belong to the label not to Mabel she's kinda screwed cos ll this period after album 1 will be a waste of time and she'll have to start a new era from scratch and actually I'm not sure if labels would want to invest in her High Expectations did well cos of (fake) playlist streams but hardly anyone was buying the album never saw it on the sales chart and was never in the top 1500 Apple most streamed albums
January 20, 20223 yr I saw someone elsewhere mention that she has her own licencing deal and owns her masters and considering her parents it likely she has a much more favourable contract than raye for example so it should be easier to escape- also possible that she funds her own studio sessions meaning the label basically only distribute and promote releases(?) so she might be able to keep her songs?
