The Rasmus's song is out. Personally I think Cyan Kicks gives you your rock fix better and with more energy. Don't think this will be the walkover for them that this might have been!

I like it on first listen. All three so far are solid for me, but Cyan Kicks is probably an 8.5/10, Rasmus 8/10 and Bess maybe 7.5/10.

 

Could see Jezebel growing though, the chorus melody is pretty nice, reminds me a bit of Girl Overboard by Girls Aloud - maybe it's just me :lol:

ooh 'Jezebel' would be fantastic too, I think it sounds like an above-average Rasmus song, which I'd like perhaps less than the energy that Cyan Kicks are bringing but there's some good lyrics in there and it's certainly a solid effort from The Rasmus, not a disappointment.

 

btw as far as Finnish Spotify is going, Bess is at #3 and Cyan Kicks at #25 down from #12 the previous day, perhaps advantage Bess then.

Younghearted and Olivera are out now, Younghearted sounds like a cute Finnish-language folk-pop song, probably won't win but it's pleasant, Olivera is easily going to be the divisive entry here, that's an... interesting voice to get used to and that's before you even get to the potentially inflammatory subject matter of the song.

Isaac's song sounds really cool and would be something very different for Finland - I've seen Weeknd comparisons. Tommi's is good and has some wonderful Finnish trilling and there's certainly a good melody behind it, but his voice might put off some.

 

 

'Thank God I'm An Atheist' is the only song I'm not keen on in this selection, all of the rest are bangers. Great stuff UMK.

idk if this is a bad thing bc i know everyone is stanning Cyan Kicks but that BESS song is giving me Erika Vikman vibes so I'm rooting for that as well

I can tell in Finland we are not stanning CK. It's probably the 4th/5th most liked.

The Rasmus big favourite in a poll

 

One of the biggest newspapers in Finland, Iltalehti, asked their readers online, who is their favourite in UMK22. Over 8000 people cast their vote and The Rasmus topped the poll with 49 percent of the voters choosing “Jezebel” as their favourite. Isaac Sene and Cyan Kicks finished on joint second with 944 votes, followed by BESS, with 941 votes.

 

The Rasmus is currently also the bookies’ favourite to win UMK22 and to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. For example, Unibet has The Rasmus as the most likely winner ahead of BESS on second and Cyan Kicks on third.

 

Still a month until the thing itself but I'd say it's looking very likely to be The Rasmus' to lose with an outside chance of BESS.

Double screening with Melfest tonight and Bess has smashed this out of the park!

Isaac, Bess, Younghearted and Cyan Kicks all smashed it but just watch The Rasmus get the nod off the back of a one hit wonder from 20 years ago!

I'm guessing Bess or Cyan Kicks will take it.

Hmm not disappointed, but I would had rather seen Cyan Kicks on ESC stage. Female fronted rock band is a rarity there.
