Video game auteur Hideo Kojima praises ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’:

“Over the next 10 or 20 years, this film's reputation will likely change along with the permeation of hero movies to come. It may take some time for it to become a true ‘folie à deux.’ But there is no doubt that everyone in the audience loved Joaquin and Gaga in this film”

Deadline's critic Damon Wise praises this and mentions it as one of his favourite movies this year.

Joker: Folie À Deux

Was ever a film more misunderstood than Joker: Folie à Deux? It’s hard to believe Todd Phillips was expecting otherwise, but perhaps that’s what gives his almost belligerently hardcore sequel its edge. Summoning the spirit of nihilistic punk rocker G.G. Allin, subject of his 1993 doc Hated, Phillips descends on the DC franchise like Godzilla on Tokyo. Reduced to rubble in the process is the casual fetishization of murderers, and beneath the carapace of showtunes — the best use of irony since Lars Von Trier’s Dancer in the Dark — there’s an indictment of a society that sent Charles Manson fan mail and, with its bleak, Carlito’s Way ending, notes the grim jailhouse fate of Jeffrey Dahmer.

This was 100% SNUBBED in the Golden Globes - not even a nom for Original score or song

Because the film was rubbish. It doesn't matter how good the acting was (and both Gaga and Phoenix's acting was actually superb), if the film is bad it aint going to get recognition.
