Posted February 4, 20223 yr Hi all! This thread is the thread for covering all snowboarding-related disciplines at the Winter Olympics this year. February 4, 20223 yr Author Tomorrow morning we'll see Katie Ormerod in the qualification for the Women's Slopestyle - she was involvevd in a freak accident just before the Pyeongchang Olympics but has since gone on to reach the Top 3 of the Olympic rankings. Hopefully she'll be in with a chance of a medal this time round!
February 8, 20223 yr Author Charlotte Bankes going on the Snowboard Cross tomorrow - probably our best chance for a medal, but the Snowboard Cross is ever unpredictable!
February 9, 20223 yr 16 years in Turin 2006 this happened: rWD1yVLqbpY 16 years later, Lindsey Jacobellis wins gold in the snowboard cross at the age of 36. Redemption for her.
February 9, 20223 yr Author Gutting for Bankes - ranked second in the qualifying rum but pipped at the last minute in her quarter-final.
February 11, 20223 yr Author An emotional farewell for Shaun White finishing 4th in the Halfpipe. Winner Ayumu Hiranu seemed super-human with some of the tricks he performed! Worth mentioning the Men's Snowboard Cross as well which went right down to the line, I'll never tire of watching that sport.
February 15, 20223 yr British skier James Woods pulled out of freeski slopestyle qualification hours after saying he was "full of painkillers and strapped up in bed" because of a back injury. Woods finished fourth at Pyeongchang 2018, improving on fifth at Sochi 2014 when he struggled with a hip injury. On Monday night, the 30-year-old said his back had "completely seized up" and he was unable to move. He added he would "give everything I can to shred my hardest". Woods' efforts were in vain though as he was registered as a DNS (did not start) when the slopestyle qualifiers got under way on Tuesday.
