Posted February 5, 20223 yr Steps 25: Their peaks and lows The question of today is: What are, in your opinion, 3 highs and 3 lows of the past 25 years?
February 5, 20223 yr Author Highs 1. The comeback. Wow, they really faced their issues and got back with a bang! Especially when ‘SOTD’ got released, such a proud moment :heart: 2. Tragedy reaching #1. This catapulted them into stardom. Such a great moment :heart: 3. Winning the Brit. They didn’t win a lot of awards so I’m happy they got SOME recognition! Lows 1. Without a doubt..the split! I remember being heartbroken and I was quite mad at H/Claire at the time. 2. The Christmas album..I got one thing to say: Why?? Steps are know for campy and uplifting bobs. Not for doing random (basic) covers of slow songs. 3. Their outfits back in the day. Yes, it worked for them and got them to where they are. I have loads of highs, as i love most of the work musically but standouts were The Comeback Step One chart run and huge sales Tragedy surprisngly going number 1 after weeks of release which was so unusual back then LOWS The split Agreed! Though some other things weren’t perfect (wich is fine by me though). And indeed, the succes of Step one :heart: I also enjoyed watching their succes outside the UK with the Step One era!

February 5, 20223 yr Author What was it like where you are? With Step one 4/5 singles peaked inside the top 40. The album as well and got a golden certification. So decent enough!
February 5, 20223 yr Author Another high for me was the sky living show, i thought it was a great watch Yes, indeed! They went deep but solved the issues in the end. Very important as it got us a lot of new material in the end (And Steps enjoying it much more) :heart: Is step one still their most successful album there? 100%! Steptacular reached #46 but only charted for a month. The other albums didn’t chart :(
February 5, 20223 yr Im happy for step one been their most successful but disappointed all the other albums underperformed, i would have thought Gold would have done something.
February 5, 20223 yr Author After the first era they only maintained some succes in Belgium. Some promo would have helped too. When they got back to Europe with Buzz most people lost interest sadly :(
February 5, 20223 yr I think interest was waining everywhere around the time of buzz, buzz was still very successful in the UK as were the singles but there was a big decline in album sales.
