I Took a Pill in Ibiza is not produced only by Mike Posner, Martin Terefe is also a co-producer in the track, both in the original and the remixed version

Edited the OP - I think it’s best (for good or ill) to stick with SOLE writing, performing and chief producing CREDITS - so if a sample is not credited (even if it should be, the song stays in the list).

NB on previous posts -

1 Professional Widow - I believe it was the Armand Van Helden remix that got to #1 and he was credited as co-producer for that.

2. Similar case for Got to Get Thru This - it was the remix that hit the top

3. SeeB and Martin Terefe are formally credited as co-producers on I Took a Pill in Ibiza

4. The Most Beautiful Girl in the World is produced by Ricky Peterson as well as Prince

I think The KID Joseph was right in the new sales post about Summer by Calvin Harris being written produced and sung solely by him.

Also technically Animals by Martin Garrix had vocals from a friend of his so he didn't really "perform" it in that sense:

Quite right, sorry - added Summer.

However Martin Garrix is the only credited artist on Animals - I would imagine almost all of these tracks have session musicians tbh.

ATB 9pm till I come

My book of no.1s has ATB as sole writer however just looked at wiki and it has co writers listed.

None of those songs were written, performed, and produced by one person and one of those wasn’t a number one!
Ooh by one person and also no.1s!! Nevermind. The Spices are 5, BUT Geri Halliwell did do the heavy lifting with production and lyrics if that counts?

Kate likely to be the first ever female on this list on Friday. Remarkable really.
Wizzard See My Baby Jive & Angel Fingers. The label might say Wizzard, but Roy Wood sang, wrote and produced both chart-toppers. Not content with that he release a solo album, Boulders, in 1973 at the same time as he was getting chart-toppers. He sang, wrote, produced and played every single instrument on the album.

meanwhile, on the albums chart,

McCartney II. 1980, Paul McCartney sang, wrote, produced and performed all the instruments on the album, bar some backing vocals from his missus Linda. He did the same in 1970 for his first McCartney album, but that only peaked at 2.

But Wizzard were the credited performers?

yes - Roy could easily have done all those bits too, though if he wanted to and I'm sure he told them what to play.

what about bands who collectively self-produce, write, perform, though, they need a thread too!
