Yesterday marked 10 years since the release of the 'Girl Gone Wild' music video. The song, co-written and produced with brothers Alle and Benny Benassi, was released as the second single from 'MDNA', just one month after 'Give Me All Your Luvin''. Like its predecessor, critical reactions were mixed, with some praising the return to dance music but criticising its lyrical content and lack of innovation. It achieved Top 10 placings in Italy (where it was certified Platinum) and Spain, but failed to make much noise in the US or UK, only reaching #6 on the Billboard Bubbling Under chart and #73 on the UK chart following its physical release. The music video was received more positively; featuring dance routines with Ukrainian group Kazaky, the video was likened to previous Madonna videos and received two nominations at the International Dance Music Awards.

10 years on, what are your thoughts and memories of 'Girl Gone Wild'?

I initially didn't like it at all and it was down there as one of my least favourites on the album when I first heard it, but now I really quite appreciate it in all its trashy glory.
A B O P. It fully clicked with me on a drunken night out and I realised how unashamedly banging it was. Now it's a favourite off the album and while it probably doesn't hold a candle to her bigger smashes, it works for what she was aiming for this era. The video is also v hot - she looks flawless? The final bridge "forgive me..." part is all sorts of *.*

Rubbish track. Her voice sounds like a little girl. It’s like we aren’t even talking about the same artist when I compare this trash to frozen or like a prayer.
