Whilst we wait for the reveal of the semi finals for BJSC 143, how about taking a moment to remember some of the highlights from those nations who no longer participate in BJSC for varying reasons. I’m sure Bré knows the total number of different nations that have ever participated, I would guess something like 150 perhaps? There must be quite a treasure trove of gems from the archives, so why not share something you remember fondly with others. I’ll share mine in a bit once I’ve done a little write-up on it…

I could have gone with many different nations which I’ve crossed paths with in my participation before, but this is what I have decided to nominate for this thread. So there was this one time (of I am sure many) when Pupok sent a bats**t crazy song from unknown artist Sam Spiegel & Ape Drums. It was BJSC 92 and the song finished 4th in the final. It’s one of the most chaotic things I’ve heard sent to BJSC, and something many nations try to replicate in their own entries. I hope one day Pupok does return, but as things stand, this is the song I most associate with them and remains a favourite.

I'll share five favourites each from my three most pointed long-inactive nations

Cowtermont:

Ethanola:

Espen:

Mdice's entries usually slapped, like this one from before my time-

Syndare also had this vastly overlooked funky tune

also Caerfyrddia's opus

From Zechonia and Lake Thermwoods from my first year of BJSC and still two of my favourite ever discoveries here
