Qatar need to get to f*** at the first opportunity. National teams represent the nation-state and if the players can't speak out against their state, then they are included in that state's decisions. All of them. Not their individual faults, but the fault of their bad government and slave labour.

I was going to completely blank this tournament because of it and I probably still will for the most part but Group B certainly seems like an interesting one, and favourable for England.

I’m sorry but in my opinion that’s nonsense, it’s hardly their fault and I would like to see any of us in their position fry and take a stand with all the pressure that brings. It’s like blaming the average German for the atrocities of the nazis yes they lived it but it’s easy to look back then now and said they should have done more and been braver.

Do the English team represent the English government? Course they don’t they are much more progressive and there’s a lot of difference in the debate within the country.

Anyway back to the football, wonder what it’ll be like watching a World Cup with a roast dinner and the fire lit? Will be strange!!

Englands group could be tricky enough as you would imagine Iran would be more used to the conditions.

Have to book Monday off  , it seems strange the first match starts at 10am, usually the opening game is on a Friday.

At least the final is on a reasonable time in the afternoon at 3pm.

So what times are the matches generally on?

Crap if there’s no evening games. Loved the last few tournaments with the last game after 10pm settle down to a game when the wife heads to bed!

There’s 4 games a day for the opening 2 rounds of fixtures at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm each day and then for the last group games and the knock-outs, the kick off times are 3pm and 7pm.
