Always had a lot of time for this one! By no means their best but certainly no where near their worst!

I have such a huge soft spot for it these days that I didn't quite have back then, I was pleased when it got its moment on the recent tour.

Its strange for me how people appreciate it now but overlooked it at the time, I think tragedy was a bit like that for me, I was initially sucked in by it but eventually I was.

The slightest was indeed a chance of getting a top 100/75 hit! Another great cover that suited them really well :heart:

 

Lately I’ve been appreciating SYBM more! Nice to see it in your countdown:)

Ya it's a real shame it didn't chart, I just hope they can make the top 100 again with some single.

Next up is number 8 from their most recent album and how this wasnt a single i do not know, far far better than take me for a ride and a hundred years of winter and its just so so Steps and what i enjoy from them, i have not tired of this song at all since i first heard it so in the future its possible i could rate this even higher.

 

 

This piano cover is also nice, obviously not a patch on steps but nice in a different way

 

 

 

After i post songs 6 and 7 i will reveal the singles that did not make my countdown before i reveal my top 5 overall steps songs.

Next up is number 7 and i think an all round very popular album track that many of us think should have been a single, i like that this has appeared on tour since they reformed as its such a good song.

 

Number 6 the one that cemented a really great comeback, it was exactly what they needed, i was so so happy when this went top 40 even though it deserved far far more.

 

Ahead of posting my top 5, 7 singles missed out on my top 25 and also missed the 10 songs that were close to my top 25. So essentially the singles that have bombed in my countdown in no particular order are

As you can see the Steps ballads dont light up my world at all.

Living is a good album track!

 

Yeah for Paradise. The single that got away!

 

Scared was a triumphant return. Oh, the feelings when I first listened to it :heart: An absolute Steps classic!

 

 

Living In A Lie & Paradise Lost are both great album tracks, so happy to see both make the countdown.

 

Scared Of The Dark is also great!
