For those interested, apparently the album has already sold 15k and is 10k ahead of sza at no2 so likely to outsell Olly Murs first week sales!!

He would’ve easily got Xmas #1 album if he pushed his album back to this Friday instead of last Friday

Not a bad start and number 1 looks good based on that.

There are already postal strikes and it’s meaningless.

Source please? That’s not great and what about Taylor?

He dropped a random deluxe version… I hope it’s not being derailed.

This Morning helped Cliff Richard so…

The deluxe version on iTunes is only £5 as opposed to the regular edition which is £10

It's already #4 on iTunes so a pretty canny move when it's not that different and it's far less sickly than an Olly Murs advent calender.

My favourite song is "OK" and Sam said he's friends with Timbaland, he's been supporting him a lot and they were gonna work on it together but they couldn't find time

Popjustice in the Sam Ryder thread.

The significance of a 'Christmas #1 album' is basically nothing though.

I disagree - While albums don’t sell like they used to, it’s still an amazing achievement to be Xmas no1.

Not really, it's just never been much of a recognised 'thing' like the #1 single is.

But that’s not a source. I would expect Taylor to be #2 if SZA is on 5K.

If it was a big achievement all the big artists that are releasing in Jan - March would release next week instead?

Some people are so critical of Sam on PopJustice and other places and I don't get it. Other 2022 Eurovision artists that are signed to international labels have not done anything like what he has done but they get praised all the time for things like appearing on TV show! Guess what he's done lots of them! :nocheer:

I've downloaded the deluxe, as I've already individually downloaded SPACE MAN and its acoustic version earlier in the year, so I only had to pay £3.41 for it.

I do like the versions of All The Way Over and You're The Voice in particular.

(I'd already bought the CD on Friday).

Well looks like a safe no1 spot this week. Will be interesting to see how the album fares longer term and whether it can hang around.
I don't think it will achieve a long chart life but could stick around for a few weeks.
Officially got the #1 but he could have easily had the Xmas #1 if he had released today rather than last Friday.
