Posted May 21, 20223 yr Outside of her debut, for me there's always been at least one glaringly obvious song that I feel should have been released as a single. For me it's the following; The Fame - None, pretty much perfect single choices. The Fame Monster - Dance in the Dark Born This Way - None, perfect single choices. "Scheiße" would have been amazing but radio wouldn't have touched it for obvious reasons. ARTPOP - Sexxx Dreams Joanne - Diamond Heart Chromatica - Alice The fan war that erupted between Little Monsters back in 2009/2010 when we had Team Monster stans vs. Team Dance in the Dark stans...those were messy times! Little did we know, neither would get the single treatment! Edited May 21, 20223 yr by Jαsє
May 21, 20223 yr Omg another Alice stan :o Totally agree regarding Sexxx Dreams. One of my faves and would've been a brilliant single.
May 21, 20223 yr The Fame - Agree that UK wise the four singles chosen were all very strong and likely the best. If I had to pick one more i'd say Boys Boys Boys; I think any single released might've just been a low top 40 peak kind of hit but Boys Boys Boys is likely the best choice remaining. The Fame Monster - Monster for me! Dance In The Dark is a great song but I do believe Monster would've done better as a single (and it would get that Halloween boost too). Dance In The Dark is the one I prefer personally as a song but Monster is the better single choice for sure. Born This Way - In an ideal world Scheiße but I'm torn on if it would've done anything. I think it could've been either gigantic or a underperformance. Hair as a full single push perhaps or maybe as an alternate Fashion of His Love that's the most pop sounding track and radio would touch it. This is the toughest era as the non single highlights aren't commercial. ARTPOP - Gypsy all day long! Not a favourite of mine but this could've been ARTPOPS Edge of Glory if pushed as a single. Her biggest example of a single that got away this could've restored her reputation at the time. Sexxx Dreams also screamed hit too that should've been pushed over GUY but we needed Gypsy to showcase another side of the album. Joanne - Diamond Heart should've led the campaign. Dancin In Circles could have worked as a single though (third single following Million Reasons)! It's not very representative of the album but it could've easily went top 40 with a push and strong visual. It's the closest thing to pop Gaga on the album  Chromatica - Alice and Replay! Alice as lead over Stupid Love and Replay as single 3. Babylon could've worked but it needs a feature as the song it's own both album and Haus Labs just needs that tiny little extra magic to really explode and go off. Edited May 21, 20223 yr by Jord
May 22, 20223 yr I think that DITD wouldn't have worked as well as a single as people think. It's the lowest streamed on the album, yes even behind Teeth. But, on the other hand, the electro pop style was more a flavour in 2010 so it could've done decently. It would've most likely broken her string of top ten hits in the US anyway. May 23, 20223 yr The Fame - No extra singles needed The Fame Monster - Dance in the Dark + Monster - could've been such a long era! Born This Way - Scheiße just for the ultimate GAG of a music video ARTPOP - GYPSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joanne - Diamond Heart (ASIB - Is That Alright?) Chromatica - Free Woman :snif:
May 24, 20223 yr Thread talks about wasted songs with potential to be official singles, not fan favorites, get on the topic y'all  The Fame - Starstruck The Fame Monster - DITD/Monster Born This Way - Hair ARTPOP - none Joanne - Dancin' In Circles and (maybe) Diamond Heart ASIB - Is That Alright? Chromatica - Alice & Babylon
