best thing is that Beyonce has finally embraced Spotify and forgotten about the Tidal-Exclusive nonsense :D

I think this song actually was still dropped on Tidal like an hour before the other platforms so it technically was still very briefly a Tidal exclusive :lol:

 

Interested to see if she will have the #1 on Spotify after not quite getting there on Apple on the first day.

But what does it matter if it jumps to no1 on week 2/3/4 it’s still a massive hit with a long chart run which is what the point of the poster was - day of release doesn’t matter much these days. If it was gonna be a flop it will be and if it’s gonna be a hit it’ll be. Yes a Friday release might mean a song that was gonna always be a flop for example Megan/Dua peaks in the top 40 but then falls straight away.

Doubt it. She hasn’t had a #1 as a lead artist since 2008. 2010 if you include "Telephone"

Well she is #2 on Apple so logically I'd expect her to do similarly well on Spotify (I am expecting a #1 debut on today's update)

The real cause of the delay: a sudden huge surge from Junior Andre

Junior is actually at #190 on Apple Music :lol: He was at around #150 the other day though so it seems like a short-lived boost.

She's dipped back to #3 on Apple now as well - a strong start but yeah I don't think she would have been heading for a #1 debut regardless (but she could definitely still climb there in the next few weeks if the song catches on).

 

Very close between the top 3 on Spotify today - Kate on 570k and Harry on 553k.

 

'Massive' up another place to #7 and now only one place behind 'Jimmy Cooks'.

that's pretty good, she was only 19K away from #1 and only 3K way from Harry at #2
