Yep, you've done all you can and I've even done my bit by getting the 2CD deluxe sent to my friend in London. I'm not sure if the digital ones will count to Australia or UK as I downloaded those myself, I'm guessing Australia.

I'll guess 22,758.

I demand a recount.

100% I was shocked as their last three albums all charted.

Then again it fell off iTunes on day 2 or 3 and I haven’t been to the shops so I don’t know whether physicals were well stocked or not.

i do hope they get the #1 - for some reason it means a lot to them - even if it drops like a stone and makes no further impact.

It would be a bit on a LSL level if it didn't with all the packages, signings etc. they've done. They've done way more than Aitch and Madonna

Debuts at 13 in Ireland, i know its much better than WTFH part 1 and 2 managed but i am slightly disappointed it missed the Top 10. (Madonna debuted at 2, Steps where the 2nd highest new entry)Disapointing for Australia too although fans like myself bought from the UK store so they gained in the UK but lost in others.

01 24,123 Steps - Platinum Collection [14,171 CDs, 4,368 vinyls, 956 cassettes, 3,835 downloads, 792 streaming]

24k! :cheer: :cheer:

That’s great :cheer: :cheer: Really happy they got there! Hopefully it will stick around for some weeks!

In the end we needn't have worried about Aitch or Madonna:

01 24,123 Steps - Platinum Collection

02 15,678 Aitch - Close to Home

03 14,132 Madonna - Finally Enough Love

... Steps had sold 16,609 in Monday's midweeks, which is almost 1k more than Aitch sold in the entire week! In fact in the Sunday midweeks Steps were on 16,234, so even just their first 2 days was more than Aitch.

They could have sat back and let it sell quite a bit less and still got to #1. I'm glad Steps hustled though, allowing themselves to achieve the best first week sale they possibly could for this album.

They stretched that lead further and im very happy with those sales aswell, shame Madonna didnt hold on the number 2.

Monday mids vs. final Friday sales:

10,821 CDs increased to 14,171 = +3,350 in 4 days

3,115 Vinyl increased to 4,368 = +1,253 in 4 days

1,479 Downloads increased to 3,835 = +2,356 in 4 days

902 Cassettes increased to 956 = +54 in 4 days

292 Streaming increased to 792 = +500 in 4 days

Well I think this shows a blind spot... the cassette. I wonder why their team wasn't fussed to try and attract more sales for that format?

Other Positions:

#1 - Downloads

#1 - Physicals

#1 - Sales [Physicals + Downloads]

#2 - Vinyl

Predictably not Top 100 in the streaming chart.

They were behind Oasis in the vinyl chart. In the midweeks Madonna's vinyl was ahead, so all the signings really helped Steps to overtake her.

I’d have predicted more vinyls and less cds if I’m honest! But I don’t care, they did it!

I guess CDs are cheaper and you can’t underestimate the casual shopper.
