Posted June 7, 20223 yr Well, since they performed at Mighty Hoopla for an enthusiastic audience of gays, they've created an official Twitter account: https://twitter.com/The411_official It also seems a vinyl release of their one and only album is on its way too: @1534071909201154050 I don't really see this resulting in new music (they've attempted at it previously only for it to go nowhere and they're now in their late 30s), but nice to see them having some fun with their small legacy. Teardrops genuinely didn't deserve to flop! _L5HvgirCKQ
June 7, 20223 yr It’s great to see them back together after all this time (the fact that it’s 18 years since they launched… 🤯) They were great and they had so much potential. It was a huge shame that it was essentially all over after 6 months considering how well their first two singles did. Obviously the third single missing the Top 20 & the album missing the Top 40 wasn’t ideal, but it was a bit ruthless how quickly the label pulled the plug. If a vinyl really is happening, I’ll definitely buy it!

I wish they would've at least tried a single in early 2005 to see how it would fare, but record labels were even more ruthless than with pop acts (particularly groups) than now, which is saying something.
June 7, 20223 yr Love seeing this - it will be like the Honeyz and Liberty X where they just tour and perform ‘hits’ (all 3 of them!) Dumb and On My Knees were cracking songs but as with many other bands at the time, they were chewed up and spat out when sales started to dwindle. I always remember when one of them got to judges houses on X Factor and it felt like this was truly her last chance.
June 7, 20223 yr Author I was curious how much Between the Sheets sold and unfortunately I couldn't find the first week numbers, but Nirvana sold 11507 copies to chart at 56 the same week. Second week it charted at 71 (so 46-71...). It was certified Silver December 10th 2004, but obviously the sales would be closer to half of that. (And as a side note - their name really isn't search bar friendly!) Edited June 7, 20223 yr by tommie
June 7, 20223 yr I did really think they were gonna have a decent-sized career at the time (well, at least lasting a couple of albums or so), it's a shame 'Teardrops' ended it all so swiftly when it was actually a really good song.

Both Dumb and On My Knees had respectable chart runs (62 and 68 on the year end charts respectively), so it was pretty shocking that it at least couldn't muster out a lower top ten (again single sales were at a low), much less top 20! From what I can tell a lot of people didn't like that it had a sample Portishead had previously used and I guess it was a lot less in-your-face than their previous two singles.

Also it was an absolute bloodbath of a busy week at the end of November (no excuse I know, but that really didn't help) https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singl.../20041121/7501/
