Uhsting's Top 50

More graphical version of my chart can be found on Crownnote: http://crownnote.com/charts/uhsting/uhstin...op-50-songs-163

This weeks 18 new entries. Experimental tracks occupy the majority of the new entries this week coming from a diverse range of genres. Believe The Hype is a shouty song packed with tremendous amount of energy. Don't Be Afraid is an industrial track while Blunt Force Trauma is an avant-garde instrumental that is synth-heavy. Meanwhile, the drag queen from the Canada's Drag Race Oceane Aqua-Black makes an appearance at number 24. Unfortunately, a whopping 6 debuts from last week dropped out of the top 50, meaning they are up for re-entry next week.

HIDE reaches number one this week shoving Urðarþráður down to number three with a powerful rap song. Lonely Weather is close to number one and the ballad You Should Know enters top 5. Wings for Ukraine is still in the top 5 after 9 weeks in the chart. Manole returns to the top 10 while LATE METAL and Eat Men Eat enter the top 10 for the first time. Biggest jump belongs to hollaback bitch and Ixora.

Number One Entry

This is avant-garde. The production is outstanding and is unlike any other rap song. I love the progression of the instrumentation throughout the song which builds up a big climax towards the end. Pink Oculus raps with lots of confidence and energy, and the flow is smooth. The last few lines of the song are especially iconic. Did I ruin the Buzzjack vibe? Do I need to exit the tribe?

Highest New Entry

This is chaotic and I love it! Both Alice Longyu Gao and Oli Sykes scream with loads of energy. They are unabashed and they go all out here. The instrumentation is also quite interesting. This song is not just shouting but a couple of down-winded moments so this will definitely not bore you!

Biggest Jump

Two completely different character but they are equally amazing, they represent the biggest risers this week. hollaback bitch is a quirky song with unique instrumentation and I especially love the saxophone instrumental break after the chorus. The rap is smooth though a lot more lowkey than Pink Oculus's HIDE. It is thoroughly enjoyable and is easy-listening. Meanwhile, Ixora is an epic song from Oda Gondrosen. In my opinion this song is a lot better than Hammer of Thor, especially when the staging doesn't feature a hammer!! I guess Oda Gondrosen draws a lot of inspiration from mythology so I'd be interested to see more songs of similar nature in the future.

One to Watch

Progressive trance tracks have not made a lot of appearances on my chart lately but this finally manages to break through. I love the harmony and the euphoric feeling though the melody line and instrumentation could come across as generic. That being said who doesn't want a feel-good trance track? After all, this type of music gets you a third place in BJSC. ;) I actually want to know what Dan makes of this. :P

Hi Uhsting! There's Noah Cyrus sneaking around the bottom and I;m playing that number one now, but I think Ixora is more my thing :)

Always interesting musically!

B-)

Hey there uhsting :hi: hope your week has started off well!

WILLOW is my favourite of your new entries this week *.* its in-your-face nature made it very instant for me! Love how versatile her voice sounds throughout it too.

Will need to check out the Hatari song (loved them in Eurovision) and Perfume Genius.

Great chart ^_^

Hi John! Noah Cyrus's new song is pretty decent though I think it may not be strong enough to be in the top 50. Ixora is really epic and I'm glad you like it! :D

<maybe> it's your fault has a strong melody and the instrumentation hits at the right spot. I agree with the versatility of her voice too. Hatari's new song is quite similar to their usual sound but is still pretty amazing. Perfume Genius's Herem on the other hand is very different. I would say the song is an experimental one so you may be caught off-guard! Thanks Jade!
