Is Varane still on our books or has he already left now?

Gone to Como!

Toro’s injury just seems to be one of those unfortunate ones. I’d be shocked if he started the season as 1st choice anyway, surely will be Maguire and Martinez.

  • He's been on par with Chelsea's Robert Sanchez this season who is also shockingly mistake-prone for a 'top' team. At least they've had the foresight to kick him out of the team (even though the backup

Think he'd be ahead of Maguire if everyone's fit. Ten Hag had no choice but to play him so much last season due to injuries, Varane and Martinez was always his first choice CB pairing.

I think that would be the plan longer term but seems mad to throw him in and start him as first choice at 18. I’d have expected him to be phased in throughout the first half of the year.

He cost a lot of money and is good enough to start. Maguire was not favoured over Luke Shaw it’s clear Ten Haag doesn’t rate him too highly especially not over a 50+ mill signing

Did Maguire not cost 85m

West Ham have completed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United.

The right-back joins for around £15m and has signed a seven-year contract.

De Ligt seems like a classic Utd signing. Not even sure he's that good. I'm shocked Ashworth signed that one off.
Was reading on Sky Sports that United's next priority (after signing this defender duo) is a holding midfield player... surely it's the forward position that needs to take priority or we will be looking around on the last day for a panic signing, and it won't be Ivan Toney.

Can't see you signing anyone else without shipping someone out. Surely pretty stacked in the forward areas already with Hojlund, Antony, Garnacho, Rashford, Zirkzee, Amad and Sancho.

Good luck finding a holding midfielder.. seems everyone is after one and there's none available

Well there is certainly that. I thought the likes of Evans, McTominay and Sancho would all be sold before the window closes, maybe even Casemiro if an offer comes along.

Problem is, these players are on insane wages. Nobodies taking Sancho unless he gets a payout and the only place Casemiro is going is Saudi, which is really quiet at the moment. McTominay is the only sellable asset you have left really, seems like a classic Everton signing, but I'd be susprised if they can afford him. Only way Evans is going is with a settlement agreement.

Evans signed another one year contract in June.

It’s mad how United can continue to splash the cash every summer and yet have the gumption to go on about City as if they themselves are paupers!

De Ligt is a great signing imo, still young and one of the best defenders in Europe, would started for Bayern if it wasn’t for Tuchel being manager!

Napoli are in talks with Manchester United over the signing of midfielder Scott McTominay.

Napoli are exploring a permanent deal and a loan with an obligation.

The offer being proposed is understood to be around €25m, which falls below United’s valuation.

Two horrendous bits of defending. Amateur hour and yet another late goal conceded.

Chelsea and Manchester United are in talks over two separate deals for Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.

The possibility of Sancho signing for Chelsea and Sterling joining United is now being seriously considered.

Chelsea’s proposal to United was always going to involve a player moving the other way.

It’s thought Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling were the players being offered.

Napoli are finalising the terms of Scott McTominay's contract.

All being well, Manchester United midfielder McTominay is expected to fly to Italy tomorrow for a medical and sign off on his personal terms.

A deal between the two clubs has been agreed at £25.4m (€30m) and personal terms are already agreed in principle

Manchester United have a full agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

The deal is worth £50.7m (€60m) including performance-related add-ons.

Man Utd will pay £42.2m (€50m) up front with £8.5m (€10m) in add-ons for the 23-year-old.
