Yeah this team is not a patch on the ones that came 2nd to City imo! They've been largely carried by a few incredible individuals. Even now it's clear to see your form has tailed off massively but you were completely ruthless in the first half of the season and Arsenal and City both massively underperformed compared with expectations.

Of course keeping Salah & Van Dijk (who both are showing no signs of slowing down) is the cherry on the cake.

Our form tailing off of a myth. We’ve been largely consistent. Everyone remembers the Cup final and the Fulham game but our results are pretty much the same. I think our play has stopped being as creative but that’s the Trent issue. He’s the playmaker and notably our creativity has dropped off a fair amount. I don’t think we’re as exciting to watch, but this team could easily get 90 points which is huge really.

But totally agree this team is not a patch on the one from 2019. That side was unbelievable. Fingers crossed we’re only 2-3 signings away from hitting those heights again!

Liverpool are an average team carried by 4 world class players TAA, Allison, VVD & Salah while that’s not unusual for a top team 3 of them are at ages where you start to decline and the other is probably leaving. So far Slot has signed one player Chiesa and that hasn’t worked out at all so we shall see how good he is in the transfer market because he’s going to need to be

That’s hardly right. We have good balance across the team but with areas we need to upgrade. MacAllister and Gravenberch have been superb this season, the latter way more effective in the first half as teams have worked out how he breaks through the lines but I expect Slot to work on that in the summer. Konate was also unbelievable until he got injured.

We purposely didn’t sign anyone in the summer outside of opportunist signings. Richard Hughes leads our recruitment and most top clubs are sniffing around Kerkez and Hujsen who he signed. I’m interested to see what we do in the summer, we’ll 100% sign a striker to replace Nunez.

So basically nearly half our team aren’t actually average then.

Agree with Roo here we seem a lot more controlled on the ball this season and Gravenberch has been a amazing addition who Klopp seemed to overlook last year in favour of Harvey Elliot 👀.

Be interesting to see what happens next season though without TAA and with more of a Slot imprint on the side. But to say Liverpool are an average side is ridiculous. Average sides don’t have two league defeats in 33 games.

For all the talk the Premier League has been rubbish, we very well could end up with 90 points! That's some achievement.

I think the "rubbishness" of the Premier League just expodites what I think will happen going forwards with relation to the domestic game. But that's another topic of conversation.

Still love this team has adopted One Kiss as THE anthem haha.

He got 32 in first season so 5 more in the last 4 games to beat that!

And objectively this has been one of the least interesting seasons ever. Liverpool have been excellent so no discredit to them but the winners and 3 relegated teams have all been decided with a month to go. Don't think that's ever happened before at least as long I can remember. Arsenal are the real villains, I feel all fans have been robbed of what could have been a classic title showdown match in 2 weeks time because of their floppiness.

Just think Arsenal recruited poorly in the summer and lost their heads a little. Don't know why they went all out on the defence and then yes Saka was a huge miss for them, but they literally create barely nothing from open play and Odegaard has been off the boil massively. Not sure they would have had the legs to challenge for the title and CL at the same time.

RE Salah it's not necessarily that he's become a better player, in the post match interview, Salah said what I've guessed for a while - Slot basically absorbs him of defensive responsibility. So it means he's fresher and has more license as he's not asked to defend in the same way he was under Klopp.

Have to feel a bit sorry for Klopp, all those near misses, just the one league win in the only year where trophy parades were banned and now they win it the year after he leaves.

Couldn't they invite him back as a special guest? Surely he deserved a lot of credit for building the team into what it was this season. He should be on that open top bus!

He certainly does deserve a lot of credit but to see him lift the trophy in a parade would be very John Terry Champions League final 2012 🤣

It was the same with Shankley in the 60s, he wasn’t prolific but Paisley won it all when he came in following him in 1974! 3 European cups in 9 seasons.

Think it's already been confirmed somewhere that Klopp will be at the parade (and after party) but not on the open top bus. The right move.
