I always thought Gravenberch looked a decent player from the fleeting appearances last season!

  • He certainly does deserve a lot of credit but to see him lift the trophy in a parade would be very John Terry Champions League final 2012 🤣

Yeh they were massivrly up for it and thoroughly deserved to win. If anyone other than Liverpool I’m glad a team like Newcastle won it as it’s been so long!

  • Would have rathered Saudicastle don't win.. but we were awful. I've seen us lose finals before and it's part of football, but that was terrible. Newcastle fully deserved to win. Been coming, Slot has

He’s obv started better than any other manager so it’s all good. Think things will even out between now and Xmas - I would personally take a top 4 place and fighting at the top until Easter again as a sign of stability. Will they win a trophy too, it’s pot luck with the cups so hard to know!

He’s done great so far, not sure what more we could ask for. People will say our run has been favourable (it definitely has) but people also forget that away fixture at Old Trafford is always one of our hardest fixtures. I can see signs we’re getting better with each game, but there’s also masses of improvements we need to make too. Defensively we take way less risks than we did with Klopp, so it allows us better control, albeit I think our attacking patterns suffer so it’s a catch-22.

Obviously our fixtures turn now so let’s see where we end up now. Losing Allison is a big blow too which will cost us too. Like Steve, I’d be really happy with Top 4 this season, I think Slot and his team are still learning and Arsenal/City are way ahead in terms of their playing style journey. Who knows what could happen though, but the next 6-8 weeks will tell us a lot.

The next 10 games are mental in terms of difficulty but lets hope 2 European Super League wins have put us on a good course to mix our team up in this comp over the late Nov/Dec period.
You guys seem very conservative to me Liverpool are in the title race
I am more optimistic than last year. Last year felt very lucky initially so the tail off towards the end was expected. This year I'm hoping Liverpool will remain there or thereabouts to the end

We're less than 10 games in, I've seen every game so far. Lots of positives, but think we are still lacking in some areas. Not really seen enough how we react under Slot when we concede first too. Way too early to say we're in a title race, if we're still within 3-4 points of the top by Christmas then I'd agree, but not convinced right about now.

Another win today and arsenal lost yesterday. Salah is still a level above what other teams have

We did well today but Arsenal are still better than us imo. What's pleasing is this team still has a lot of growth in it and even watching us today, I can see where certain additions in areas will really helps us. We certainly are taking less risks than under Klopp and managing games differently. It's pleasing, but let's see where we are by the next international break, we've some really tough fixtures.

Danny Murphy sitting beside Rafa on MOTD tonight! Awkward!

I think they've long made up

Both Man City and arsenal lost and Liverpool won again I think you guys cannot deny you’re in the title race now. A long way to go but Liverpool look solid

They do but aren’t convincing and your only really in a title race in March-April for me.

Agreed, there’s ages to go yet. I remember 2020-2021 where we were too at Christmas and City were turgid. We’re up there at the moment but a long way to go yet.

David Coote finished as a Premier League referee then  No way he gets a Liverpool game again, the decisions this guy has not given us over the last 4 years is criminal. Saturday another prime example.
What happened?

There’s a video on Twitter of him calling Klopp a C bomb, looks like it’s not long after the 7-2 Villa game in 2020.

While I do think in general Coote is just a terrible referee- this video was likely taken just before the 2-2 Everton derby in Oct 2020 and of course features a Mane goal disallowed where he’s a yard onside and the Pickford on VVD tackle.
