So Steps have released their new greatest hits Platinum Collection and with it is two brand new songs. The single Hard 2 Forget and (for now) album track The Runner.

Based on first listen, easily the runner.

I'm the same, The Runner for me. (As I've stated in the album thread)

 

The Runner is quite enjoyable. Saying that though Hard 2 Forget has grown on me.

The runner just has that more upbeat feel to it than hard 2 forget which makes it better for me.

The runner sounds a lot better than hard to forget tbh.

The Runner by far, so camp. I love it!

For now also The runner, growing fast on me.

Hard 2 Forget. I appreciate it for being more modern sounding.

 

The Runner is fun... but it's also cheaper sounding, plus there's some strained vocals in the mix.

'The Runner' isn't quite as good as Bananarama's version, it lacks the gusto and I agree the production sounds really cheap/lightweight. With production similar to say 'To The Beat of My Heart' it would've sounded a lot fuller.

No question for me, The Runner. Absolutely love it on first listen.

 

Hard 2 Forget is catchy but feels so plain to me and lacking the usual Steps sparkle and vocal oomph. I very rarely play it.

The Runner.

It reminds me of how excited I was after hearing The Slightest Touch for the first time.

I'm so enjoying the runner,

H2F easily! One on their best singles and one of my most played tracks of the year.

 

Played the runner once and it’s cheap sounding. Doubt I’ll return to it.

The runner for me is just upbeat and a song to put you in good mood.

It's a really anaemic version of it for me, it really could've been so much more as it's a perfectly suited song for them.

The runner hasn't done nearly aswell as most if their others singles in iTunes.
