I was thinking about this today, and actually came up with a thought in my head haha :o

So it says in the bible that if you are gay you will go to hell, but you go to hell if youve committed sins. However, when jesus died, it is said that he died for our sins, like the murderers that were on the sides of him, their sins were forgiven. However, if this is true, that means that being homosexual wouldn't affect your chances of getting into heaven since your sins were forgiven.

However, I then went on to something else! If all our sins have been forgiven, then we will all automatically go to heaven, and since all sins are forgiven, would that mean that there is no hell, since nobody would be in it?

But then I started thinking on another level, what if the bible is not true [i realise that people will already have there opinions on wether the information in the bible is correct or not] and that, for example, it could have been 'The DaVinci code' of it's day, or mabye it was just something somebody with an active imagination wrote. If so, mabye there is no heaven and hell, mabye there is nothing in the afterlife, or are we actually living now, or are we already in a heaven/hell/purgatory, just not realising it?

I just thought id share the wonders of my head with you....opinions?

It actually says you go to hell if you are a "sodomite" (doesn´t use the word gay), and there can be heterossexual sodomites something that is hugely ignored by homophobic people. On the other hand it says the peaceful will heir the kingdom of heavens, so if a man is at the same time peaceful AND homossexual, one of these promises (heaven/hell) will be broken, and the Bible would be lying at one of these points at least. The answear is, do not take it literally. I think homossexual sex have the same weight as sex before or outside marriage, which is something that most normal people in our society do, but you don´t see people mourning against these people.

Some of the famous persons in the Bible have supossedly killed thousands of inocent people... King Salomon had hundreads of wives. Yet they were all considered great "men of God". Yet christian fundamentalists want to tell us that a person will go directly to hell for simply feeling atracted by someone of the same gender...

However, when the Bible says Jesus died for our sins, it doesn´t mean that we should or could sin freely and deliberately from now on, I suppose.

youve not quite understood it...

the bible says that jesus died for your sins, so your sins are forgiven.... yes... BUT only if you accept christ as your saviour and become a christian.

a nice piece of medieval scaremongering that!!

the bibles a collection of scriptures (the earliest was ) written 60 years after christs death. there were tens of thousands of writings by these supersticious people. the bible is a collection of the ones that are being used to try to prove a point... conveiniantly ignoring 99% of similar writings that contradict the bible.

people will believe what they want, they want a nice cosy 'itll be alright in the end' type scenario, they want to not die but live forever in happiness..... this of course in the real world is utter bollox!

id suggest questioning everything you are told, keep an open mind.

I´m not sure if I really believe there is a hell, but I think the world would be better if people acted like there was one.

lol.. well i kinda agree. im certain theres no hell.

people should act like they are responsable , compassionate human beings, treating others as you would want to be treated.. being honest. do we really need a scaremongering religion to teach us this?.. surely its basic common sense.

I get all worried and confused about the whole gay thing when it comes to religion. Like....what if someone has a kind heart and has never hurt a person in their life, and never has evil thoughts towards others. And they just happen to be gay? Does this make them bad? Will they be condemned to hell? And if god didnt want people to be gay why did he just like...not programme some of them to be gay?

I used to believe in a christian god but I'm totally doubting it right now.

That's exactly what I've always thought  If being gay is 'evil' then why did he make it so gay people felt those feelings for the same sex? These things were probably made by people who were really homophobic anyway. Then again a lot of the time homophobic people turn out to be gay themselves in the end. -_-

thats a huge discrepancy with christianity, unless you accept christ as your saviour then you're going to hell... REGARDLESS of how decent a person you are. myra hindley, ian huntley could go to heaven if at the very last moment they accepted christ... but any decent person who doesnt accept christ would rot in hell... BARMY!

ive heard tales of the torment that gay christians face.. hurting, praying that they would be straight... guess what? GOD NEVER ANSWERED THEIR PLEAS... why?... well its obvious...either god doesnt mind gay people or... theres no fcukin god!..... go figure!

Lol. I think people are not actually "blamed" for being atracted by someone of the same sex, since there must be some biological or genetical reason for it. At the same time, I don´t think there can be a real gay marriage, it´s just going to be a "friendship" or a "deal" where sex happens. It´s a proven fact that gay couples usually stay together for a much shorter average time then straight couples. It must be hard to maintain this kind of relationship with someone who is just the same as you... Basically, most christians are against sex outside marriage, and homossexual relationship just falls into this category.
