Predict the position Spiceworld will re-enter the album chart, and how much you think it could sell!

~

Firstly, bear in mind that 'Spice 25' sold 7,798 copies in its release week [Vinyl: 4,563 | CD: 1,464 | Cassette: 1,219 | Streaming: 364 | Downloads: 188]

'Spice 25' had 1 CD, 5 Cassettes and 6 Vinyl. Comparatively 'Spiceworld 25' has 1 CD, 1 Cassette and 3 Vinyl (In the case of both albums, older/original formats will have counted to, but their sales were probably quite minimal)

To further help you out with the sales prediction poll, this is what the sales were in the 12th November 2021 chart, which is last year's equivalent week to the week Spiceworld 25 will chart in (11th November 2022).

#1 - 203,909 (This was ABBA's first week of their studio album being on sale, an unusually high sales figure)

#2 - 47,758 (Ed Sheeran's second week sales of his most recent studio album)

#3 - 12,991

#4 - 11,069

#5 - 9,622

#6 - 7,856

#7 - 7,673

#9 - 5,761

#16 - 4,400

#17 - 4,300

#18 - 4,000

#19 - 3,900

Well, I'd be really surprised if this came particularly close to touching the sales of 'Spice'.

Sorry to be pessimistic but my gut feeling isn't Top 10 for this re-release. Particularly because the individual member artwork vinyl was seemingly such a driving force behind Spice 25's sales. The "buy them all to own the complete set" nature of that gimmick isn't here for Spiceworld 25.

I'll say #13 with about 5,000 sales. I fear even that might be an overestimation of its potential. Of course I hope I'll be proved wrong and that it does a lot better. I could maybe see it being a "starts off in the midweek Top 10 but falls out by the end of the week" scenario.

I predicted 15th and 2500-3000 copies (perhaps maybe it should be 3500-4000 copies for that position actually). There’s no urgency in getting this time around unlike the first round. Plus, the individual vinyls not being available this time so people won’t buy five copies of it this time.

I'd say #16 with around 5000 copies this time....

Certainly it wont touch the Top10, specially not with the lack of incentives across the various options.

Just been reading some of the comments across various forums and I am not confident with Top20 anymore... The level of dissapointment is literally across the board for this release by 90% of the fanbase... it's quite sad actually...

Plus most of the girls haven't even acknowledged it... Where's Gerita and Mel B? Even bloody Vicky Bex posted about Spice25 ffs....

Seems like at least this time both Mel C and Emma will do some promo as they are out and about with their promo for the book and the christmas show, but damn... I would be surprised if it misses the Top40 at this stage....

Hmm it’s not as if Spice 25 was widely praised online in the run up to its release, but nevertheless it went to #5!

Maybe I shouldn’t jinx it but I think it would be quite difficult for them to miss the Top 40 with multi formats.

Can someone remind me how much Spice sold last year?

Well, they did release several demos on Spice 25, and surprise surprise I still remember a lot of fans complaing about them, saying they either sound not that different or are inferrior to the final versions. They can't win.

To be fair, Who do you think you are (demo) sounds 95% finished
I Predict #15 with 4,540 copies in the first week [Vinyl: 2,281 | CD: 1,464 | Cassette: 243 | Streaming: 364 | Downloads: 188]

Sorry but the demos were well received overall, although yes the Who Do You Think You Are demo was clearly pointless as it was pretty much the finished version anyway...
