December 30, 200618 yr Author I love most of this! I'm surprised that I like most of it, because I thought we had different musical preferences! Aha they are obviously more alike than first thought. :funky: Though I'll still despise anything Ryan Merriman releases... or is he an actor? :kink: and the rest of it it's even better Let;s hope you like the top 30 too. :D Elena Risteska finished #145 btw, so not too bad. ^_^

Number ones from Paris and Rihanna also appear here, and Ms. Hilton still has another song to chart. Two songs from Madonna too - Get Together and #1 Jump which both enjoyed fairly lengthy runs. The Pussycat Dolls' next song arrives at #29, leaving only "Buttons" left to chart for them. Songs which weren't a success in the UK too chart very respectively, from the Veronicas, Alexis Strum and Dancing DJs, and the fab comeback from Xtina is at #24. :D
December 31, 200618 yr I do love Paris' song I must admit :( Oh and fab to see the Veronicas included :D Get Together was utterly vile - much better on Confessions imo - the only bad single to be released off the album.

January 1, 200718 yr Author I do love Paris' song I must admit :( Oh and fab to see the Veronicas included :D Get Together was utterly vile - much better on Confessions imo - the only bad single to be released off the album. Paris' song was good. :( What a shame she's been dropped. Haha. great 2 see Rihanna & PCD there :D glad u d/l the new elena single there's a link 4 the album in my siggy now and the her new official english site :D can't wait 4 ur top 20 :cheer: Thanks Boyan. :D Keep watching. :funky: That Pussycat Dolls song is a guilty pleasure of mine  and so is that Paris Hilton song :( Both are so good. :( And Beep is so chavvy! :o
January 1, 200718 yr Author Beginning the top 20 now then with 20-16... http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/7567837992.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876853962.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDGLOBE510.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9853569.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/nebt046.JPG 20 Jewel Good Day 3-3-3-5-11-8-10-17-19-20-23-28-31-35>14 weeks Jewel's third song to hit my chart failed to disappoint, after her first two songs both hit #1, Good Day managed #3 and stuck around for longer than Again And Again too. 14 weeks on my chart is quite an achievement too, as many songs that chart highly straight away fall out after seven or eight weeks. 19 Anna Vissi Everything 22-17-20-20-18-13-16-6-11-2-1-4-12-12-18-32-36>17 weeks This song charted fairly low in the run up to Eurovision 2006 and only actually made #1 after the Contest. The real reason for that was because of her dire performance on the night making me appreciate the studio version far more! Tipped to win by many at Eurovision, she didn't, but is a real winner on my top 100 of 2006. 18 Mickey Modelle vs. Jessy Dancing In The Dark 32-4-5-6-4-4-4-12-11-16-23-23-25-27-37>15 weeks 15 weeks for Mickey Modelle's amazing "Dancing In The Dark". After charting at a lowly #32 in its first week, I decided to download the Dancing DJs remix, and loved it so much that it shot into the top ten where it remained for six weeks. An absolutely fab song, followed up by the not-so-good "Over You". 17 LL Cool J f/ Jennifer Lopez Control Myself 1-2-2-2-4-8-18-16-14-19-27-31>12 weeks The best song EVER from LL Cool J here in my opinion, I love this song! A real feel good song and instantly catchy, this sort of song doesn't usually make #1 on my chart, it also beat Madonna to the top spot this week and remained at #2 for three weeks after. More of the same please LL! 16 Kate Ryan Je T'adore 10-8-7-8-8-7-7-4-12-14-20-26-24-21-28-33-37-39>18 weeks Another Eurovision song here, from the fabulous Kate Ryan whose "Je T'adore" failed to make the final of the Eurovision - one of the biggest crimes EVER!!! The Belgians got sour grapes and threatened to pull out for 2007, but they're not going to after all... give it a few years though! This monster of a song remained in my top ten for eight weeks, hence its high position and stuck around for ten more weeks.
January 1, 200718 yr Author oh 2 ESC songsinto the top 20 :D good 2 see Control Myself 2 ! Thanks Boyan. :D There are more ESC songs to follow too. :funky:
January 1, 200718 yr Excellent chart David, I am very glad to see so many of my favourites of the year, especially Paris
January 1, 200718 yr Author Almost at the top ten now. :o http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/7567837992.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876896382.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/2564641402.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876861242.JPGhttp://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9885657.JPG 15 Jewel Goodbye Alice In Wonderland 1-2-5-2-1-5-9-13-13-19-28-33-38>13 weeks The highest of all Jewel songs in my chart lands at #15. GAIW wasn't actually a single, but a video was made allowing it to chart in my chart. :D A strong 13 weeks in the top 40, and two weeks at #1 meant that this was one of my favourite songs of 2006. Taken from the breathtaking album of the same name, I'd recommend it to most. 14 Dixie Chicks The Long Way Around 2-2-2-3-7-5-7-11-12-13-16-21-24-34-40>15 weeks The amazing second single from the Dixie Chicks flopped in the UK charts, but impacted mine with three weeks at #2, being held off by Enya. A real feel good opener to the album "Taking The Long Way" this lasted 15 weeks on my chart, spending seven of those in the top ten. 13 Enya The Magic Of The Night 1-1-1-1-2-1-1>7 weeks (so far) "The Magic Of The Night" was the second of the Christmas bunch to be unleashed onto my chart and by far the most successful. It endured six weeks atop the chart and is still charting. Just seven weeks so far, it is quite an achievement that this song is as high as #13 and just a point off #12. With a new Christmas album comgin from Enya next year, this could re-appear then. :funky: 12 Dixie Chicks Not Ready To Make Nice 1-1-2-4-5-7-6-12-14-18-26-29-32-33-35-39>16 weeks It's perhaps quite surprising that the highest Dixie Chicks song is only #12, as the album is definately one of my favourites from 2006. It went to #1 the week before I went to Croatia, and stayed there two weeks later, so it perhaps could've gone higher had I been sad enough to do a chart whilst on holiday. Still, this is a very respectable position for a great political song. 11 Pussycat Dolls Buttons 10-15-16-26-28-13-15-8-5-10-16-6-3-9-8-15-19-26-33-39>20 weeks The longest runner out of the top ten is the outstanding "Buttons" from the Pussycat Dolls. This quite easily could've stayed top ten, but was pipped by #10 during the last few weeks. Surprisingly, the peak for this song happened on its 13th week on chart, after it had been as low as #28. "Buttons" stayed top ten for a total of eight weeks scattered here and there and was horrendously overplayed whilst I was in Croatia. So there you have it, numbers 100-11 - I'll post the top ten one by one a bit later.
January 1, 200718 yr Kate Ryan & Anna Vissi  i only got into the Anna Vissi song after watching the video on youtube  weird lol, Great countdown lookin forward to top 10

January 2, 200718 yr Author 10 Pink Who Knew http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876847012.JPG 4-7-6-7-8-11-10-10-4-7-10-12-15-19-23-32>16 weeks This monster from Pink hit my chart back in July and entered straight at #4, and stayed in the top ten for a total of ten weeks. That feat puts "Who Knew" incredibly high on my YTD, and a deserved position for an amazing song! It's just a shame the other singles released by Pink this year all missed the top 100. 9 Paris Hilton Stars Are Blind http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/W723CD1.JPG 11-15-27-20-10-8-4-5-2-3-6-6-9-17-18-20-26-35>18 weeks Everyone's guilty pleasure of 2006 is the amazement that is "Stars Are Blind" haha. It's such a great song, and anyone who says they don't love it is lying. She entered my chart at #11 and fell to #27 within two weeks, but a few weeks later she peaked at #2 and remained in the top ten for a total of nine weeks.
