Biggest surprise for me is 'Don't Stop The Music' only being #20 :o I probably hear that played on the radio more than any other Rihanna song, I thought it was one of her best remembered and would be picking up lots of weekly streams but obviously not!

'BELIEVE IT' really has no business being anywhere on here (even if low down), here's hoping her next comeback isn't as much of a letdown as that was.

On the other hand, justice for 'Lemon' w/ N.E.R.D, that may be my favourite song she's ever been involved with. What a classic packed top 40 here though (even if a few of them are not to my taste).

I assume Don't Stop The Music (and Disturbia) probably suffers from the low sales climate at the time of release compared to some of her hits a few years later in the download era. So while it is generating strong streams, it's started on the back foot from from a lower point compared to say Diamonds and to her Anti era sleeper streaming hits.

Yessss Lemon is great.

I'm also surprised Believe It is in her top 40 here, I assumed it only made a top 20 impact because it was the first thing to have Rihanna's name on it for three years. Then again, it looks like it had a longer top 40 run than I remembered so maybe it makes some sense.

The only 2 non collab Rihanna songs I would choose to listen to are 'Russian Roulette' (very dark and haunting) and 'Diamonds' (quite beautiful but that's a Sia song). Rest if ok but just not wild about.

Agreed but also even more surprised at 'SOS' being as low as 32 with a similar instantly recognisable sample. That felt massive at the time and for a good while after.

On the other hand, 'Russian Roulette' is my least favourite song by her oops. Just find it a bit of a dirge and slightly depressing. Can't say 'Diamonds' is exactly a massive highlight for me either!

exclusive advance full chart of my A-Z Greatest Hits for Rihanna. She's certainly had a quality variation over the years, but a good 20 classics (that need to be on a Greatest Hits along with some lesser bigger hits)

I might agree on that top 5, Stay and Princess of China are really her best 2 songs

Anyway, looks like the new single is a power BALLAD

really was expecting/wishing Rihanna to come back with something upbeat but alas...

Beautiful Liar (ft Beyonce & Shakira) (Rihanna's Version) (From The Vault) (10 Minute Version)

I deserved this x

Two of her worst singles for me, would happily never hear those two again lol. Actually I'm probably being a bit harsh on 'Stay', it's not that bad but I've always disliked 'Princess Of China', there's just something about it.

Stay is all about the lyrics, if you relate or not

Sledgehammer deserves a spot as one of her top sellers, seriously underrated.

I was kinda hoping for an upbeat banger as well but we've only heard a 5 second snippet so far so i'm keeping an open mind about the new track.
