February 5, 20232 yr Agoney would have been a better winner, his song is a strong radio friendly pop song. They chose the folk song that can flop or be low top 10 who knows.
February 5, 20232 yr Didn't think much of 'Eaea' when I first listened to it, but seeing that performance, I think that's going to hold up far better throughout the season than others and could easily get some of the 'intense folk' votes that are sometimes around (and clearly all went for 'Stefania' last year, it's got that same thing of inspiring female ancestors as a song theme). It's not as instant an alternative entry and yes, perhaps Agoney would have been better to run a streak following Chanel but I'm sure there will be plenty of those types of songs before the season is over, it's good to see alternative entries from Big 5 nations that don't feel phoned in.
February 5, 20232 yr Eaea is a great choice here. The staging really elevated the song. I think this could do well for Spain again this year
February 5, 20232 yr Honestly not mad at this Really wanted Rakky Ripper or Sofia Martin out of the choices but this is a fun and experimental track, definitely something new to the table
February 6, 20232 yr I think this is dead cert top five. I’m not even ruling out a win, with some tweaks and added flourishes. You only need a fraction of the televote to love it and that vox will get lots of jury love.
February 6, 20232 yr I really love this! The betting odds haven't reacted to it at all. The only issue I could see is if Czech Republic's song wins their NF because that also leans heavily into the same theme. Edited February 6, 20232 yr by Megan_
February 6, 20232 yr terrible choice, we're gonna end up last :/ but there were no possible choices, all 8 songs were terrible and antieurovision
February 6, 20232 yr I’d be stunned if this finished last, I think it’ll have huge jury appeal. I don’t think it’ll be top 5 like Chanel but I’m expecting left hand side of the board. And I thought it was a great Benidorm Fest too! My first one but I’ll definitely be returning each year because of it. It was great to see Spain doing things their way and having their stamp on all songs whilst still being competitive - I loved the top 3 in the end and Mi Familia too even though she wasn’t great live.
March 28, 20232 yr This seems to be clearly becoming a top 5 contender. #5 in the betting odds about to outstrip Norway. Flawless performance by the way last Saturday in Barcelona. wY8zEbzg_ak Edited March 28, 20232 yr by rafik4u
March 28, 20232 yr She can REALLY perform! :o That live is impeccable! Hope she maintains this standard on the night but I have faith!

March 31, 20232 yr Yes, I'm happy to see Blanca top 5 at the moment. I think Spain deserve another top 5 place since they got robbed by the Ukraine war last year.
May 14, 20232 yr records have been broken for all those fans who like to look at positions: https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comment...try_to_rank_on/ The only final position before tonight Spain was missing was a 17th - Blanca provided. (excepting 27th but that's probably not happening again for a while)
May 14, 20232 yr ROBBED. SECOND BEST OF THE NIGHT ESSILY. HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LOREEN AND BLANCA PALOMA'S ART AND THE OTHER SONGS.
May 14, 20232 yr Best of the AQs! And I say that without the slightest bias x (but no I do genuinely think Spain's put out absolute shite for years, bar Chanel and this) I really saw this as an easy 3rd place behind the actual top 2, I don't really know what happened.
May 14, 20232 yr What happened is she went right after Loreen! And anyone who would ususlly vote for Blanca Paloma voted for Loreen. It newded to be in next year's competition. Pure class in her response to getting 5 votes, like the UK actually. Some others seemed missersble - Switzerland - and others disappointed - Blanca and Israel.
