May 14, 20232 yr Author Opens with 112k in the US, which is pretty good considering that = sold 118k in its first week there. I was expecting a lot lower.
May 15, 20232 yr The more I’m hearing from this I think that this is a real step up in terms of output from him. This sound feels a lot more natural and authentic. I still hope he takes a lengthy break after this album though.
May 23, 20232 yr Boat is one of my favourite things he’s ever done so of course so it would end up being of the very rare times he isn’t right at the top of the singles chart with it
May 29, 20232 yr After hearing this in full this is definitely his strongest as a whole album for me. This is definitely his most natural sounding album as a whole and the most authentic sounding as well. I actually genuinely like this as a album.
May 31, 20232 yr Another Max Martin co-write, presumably this was for the sessions of one of his studio albums? It's very Westlife.
May 31, 20232 yr Another Max Martin co-write, presumably this was for the sessions of one of his studio albums? It's very Westlife. Possible as it was written about 18 months ago. He said the inspiration was Coldplay... hmm not sure what happened there... Edited May 31, 20232 yr by Chloe00x
June 1, 20232 yr That Ted Lasso track seems to be another flop, based on AM and iTunes. Are you surprised? Ed posted it on social media but most people won't know it exists unless they watch Ted Lasso and it wasn't added to a lot of playlists. He won't care about chart position when he wrote it for his favourite TV show...
July 29, 20231 yr I dont want to alarm anyone but apparently big Ed announced he will be releasing new music soon! According to his sub on Reddit he introduced 3 new songs on his tour and changed his IG to "Autumn is Coming". New seasonal albums? Yay x <_< Edited July 29, 20231 yr by Megan_x
July 29, 20231 yr I dont want to alarm anyone but apparently big Ed announced he will be releasing new music soon! According to his sub on Reddit he introduced 3 new songs on his tour and changed his IG to "Autumn is Coming". New seasonal albums? Yay x <_< I believe he’s releasing the songs that originally were for ‘Subtract’ but were replaced by the new ones he wrote last year.
July 29, 20231 yr Certainly feels like this era has been more unnoticed than his usual eras. Perhaps should have waited a bit longer to drop new material.
July 29, 20231 yr I still think this is his best album so it’s a bit frustrating that this is the era where he’s (by his standards) underperforming.
August 15, 20231 yr According to this concert review Ed revealed details about the new album Ed Sheeran will release a new album on his own label this fall possibly titled "Autumn Variations," he announced late Friday night in Minneapolis. Near the end of his 2 ½-hour performance Friday at the sold-out 2,200-seat State Theatre, Sheeran performed three unreleased songs and explained that they will be part of a new album on his label because his contract with Atlantic Records ended with this year's "-" (pronounced "Subtract"). Ed performed brand new love songs, which the British superstar asked concertgoers not to video: "Crashing in Head and Heels," the falsetto-rendered "Blue" and "Magical," which he said he sings to his young daughters daily. Sheeran pointed out that, even though fans probably couldn't decipher it, he grew up with classical music, the field of his mother and brother. He was fond of Edward Elgar's "Enigma Variations." Hence the possible title of Sheeran's next project, "Autumn Variations." "I take 3 ½ years to put together an album," he explained. This new one might come "three or four months" after "Subtract." "I have no desires or expectations for this album," he continued. "I'll put this album out myself. My own record label. It's not going to have the same push or machine behind it. Songs will not be hammered down your throats for four or five years." Okay hun we believe you. https://www.startribune.com/ed-sheeran-minn...alid/600296676/ Edited August 15, 20231 yr by Megan_x
January 23, 20241 yr I recently started listening to him and my first thought was how I hadn't done so sooner. A lot of him's songs remind me iof some that Alan Cumming sings.
June 8, 20241 yr @1799047193158193555 ...and that's why you are releasing the cheesiest music ever existed :P
