I'm like an ocean wave that's bumped on the shore

| 17 // Dream Dancing // 7.33

| 18 // But Beautiful // 7.17

| 19 // I Won't Dance // 7.00

We're into the songs with an average above 7, so not doing too badly! Two Cheek to Cheek tracks first. I Won't Dance was worked and reworked a few times in the 1930s for various musicals. Lyrically it is about being unable to dance due to heartbreak. But Beautiful from their debut album is out next and was originally released in 1947. Finally, Dream Dancing from Love For Sale is a dreamy song initially recorded for the film 'You'll Never Get Rich', where it was introduced as an instrumental and first recorded by Fred Astaire.

Dream Dancing is my first big loss in these results. It got an 8 from me and deserved to do better here. I can't believe it's ranked so low for the Love For Sale songs :snif:

Once again our arms intertwine

| 14 // Nature Boy // 7.50 (more 11s)

| 15 // Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye // 7.50 (more 10s)

| 16 // I Concentrate On You // 7.50

Three songs with the exact same average now, so separated by top scores! I Concentrate On You is a doting love song about the power of love to conquer doubt and fears. Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye is next and the song was initially performed in 2010 at The Oak Room, when Gaga covered Ella Fitzgerald's rendition of the song. A Gaga solo, it went on to feature on the pair's debut jazz collection. Finally Nature Boy is a tale of a boy who reaches the far stretches of the world but returns learning that love is the greatest thing on the planet. It is a jazz standard and became a huge hit when originally released by Nat King Cole.

I feel a sudden urge to sing

| 11 // Cheek to Cheek // 8.00

| 12 // It's De-Lovely // 7.83

| 13 // I Can't Give You Anything but Love // 7.67

The final section before the top 10, begins with the second single from the Cheek to Cheek album. I Can't Give You Anything but Love features alternating verses between the pair, received two remixes and a music video to accompany the single's release. Next up, from Love For Sale, It's De-Lovely, which originally featured on Cole Porter's Red Hot and Blue musical before returning in multiple subsequent musicals. Finally, just missing out on the top 10, taken from Irving Berlin's song from 1935, for the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie Top Hat, it's the titular track for the pair's debut jazz album.

| 10 // Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) // 8.17

Kicking off the top 10, it's Gaga's cover of the iconic Bang Bang (My Baby shot Me Down). The song was performed by Gaga at Jazz at Lincoln Center for the special TV programme "Cheek to Cheek LIVE!". The live version went on to become available as the bonus track on iTunes edition of Cheek to Cheek.

My story is much too sad to be told

| =08 // I Get A Kick Out Of You // 8.33

Skipping #9 now because we have a joint 8th place, with exact same scores across the rates given. First up it's I Get A Kick Out Of You from Love For Sale. Released as the first single from the album, it features the pair alongside a big band. The music video shows the pair recording the song together and exuberates love and adoration between the pair. A heartwarming and emotional video, it shows Gaga's passion for Tony.

Doesn't one and one make two?

| =08 // Do I Love You // 8.33

In joint 8th position we have another Love For Sale track and this time it's Do I Love You? The Gaga solo song was originally made famous by Cole Porter for his musical Du Barry Was a Lady (later performed by Gene Kelly in the film adaptation of the musical). It has Gaga asking repeatedly trying to reaffirm her love for someone and express this to her lover. Subdued and simple, it's a stripped back ballad sung beautifully by the leading Lady.

You are still burning inside my brain

| 07 // Lush Life // 8.33 (more 10s)

Same average as the previous two, but receiving more 10 scores, it's Lush Life from the debut. The Gaga solo song is about wasting nights away and finding yourself in night-life. It's a solemn song about loneliess and sadness but also about finding solace in the face of this loneliness.
