A few different musical songs in this section! The Family Madrigal was an interesting one to hear having not seen the musical but it grew on me a lot during its tenure in the charts.

Adam's End Of Year Chart - Top 100 - 2022:

65. Ella Henderson - Brave

Release Date: January 7, 2022 | UK Chart Peak: 42
Peak: 08 | Adam's Chart Run: 27-12-9-8-x (4 weeks)

Ella Henderson released her long awaited follow-up album, Everything I Didn't Say this year and there was much promise after her debut... Brave led the album campaign and whilst it is a nice track, it didn't set the world alight and we now find Ella under the same pretense as Becky Hill relying on features to score hit singles. Nothing will ever top Chapter One for me.

Release Date: March 10, 2017 | UK Chart Peak: DNC
Peak: 17 | Adam's Chart Run: 24-17-x-27-23-31-x (5 weeks)

We return to Come From Away (even saying the title makes me sad about it's recent London closure ) at #64 and the track where the passengers come to terms with their new friends and wonder what on Earth is happening out there. Thankfully this show will return next year on a UK tour and I for one will be there at the opening night

Lady Gaga is back with Alice at #63. Almost three years since release and I still love it. A complete dance-pop banger. I actually used this as my opening number to my Summer show last year and it went down so well. :music:

Peak: 17 | Adam's Chart Run: 32-39-25-x-28-22-23-17-20-32-29-38-x (11 weeks)

Ghost is categorically Justin's best release since the Believe era. Honestly a stunning song and video, much more like the Justin we grew up with. I had tickets for the o2 show next month and I'm gutted it was cancelled because Justin puts on a helluva show.

Kim Petras brings us their juicy Coconuts at #61. This is definitely a choice and one I heard all over Tiktok resulting in it featuring in my chart. It's an earworm for sure and was constantly stuck in my head at the former part of 2022.

Peak: 03 | Adam's Chart Run: 6-17-41-17-17-8-3-6-16-25-x (10 weeks)

Oh, now THIS deserves to be much higher on my EOY. This is such a freaking bop and my favourite by far from Mabel's second album, About Last Night.... In fact, that whole album is very good and Mabel should have had more success with this era.
Hey! Don’t Lose Your Head, Overthinking, Replay, Alice, Ghost and Definition are my favourites since I last commented

Peak: 04 | Adam's Chart Run: 4-9-30-16-16-18-14-11-13-11-16-x-36-19-* (*13 weeks and still charting)

Earth to Atlantic Records?!?! Sort out promo for Ava Max!! She has released bop after bop this era and nothing has broken through and it's a complete pop tragedy. Million Dollar Baby is the perfect bubblegum pop song and I'm so gutted to see her flopping so hard when she's releasing such fantastic songs. I can only hope this isn't the last we hear from her.

Release Date: November 16, 2018 | UK Chart Peak: DNC

Well... I am flabbergasted that Wasabi has actually never charted in my top 40. It makes an appearance almost at the half way point though and thoroughly deserves it. What a statement this song was.

2021 EOY Position: 39

Back for another year is Becky Hill with My Heart Goes (La Di Da). Once again relying on a DJ feature to score a hit however it is a system that really works for Becky and this track has the hook that stays in your head. Probably deserved more than it's#11 peak officially.

56. SIX - I Don't Need Your Love

Release Date: August 31, 2018 | UK Chart Peak: DNC
Peak: 03 | Adam's Chart Run: 03-19-37-43-49-x-47-x-49-x-39-36-26-x-16-25-27-34-x-36-35-x-23-* (*17 weeks and still charting)

2021 EOY Position: 47

Finishing around mid-way for the second year running is Catherine Parr's self-accepting ballad, I Don't Need Your Love. I really do just love Six and it shows so much empowerment. If you've never seen it before, here is a little taster from the Broadway cast. Mad how this has gone from a tiny 300-seat theatre in London to all over the globe. So well deserved though.

Here are my favourites from your latest selection:

57. Becky Hill - My Heart Goes (La Di Da) (feat. Topic)

59. Ava Max - Million Dollar Baby

60. Mabel - Definition

62. Justin Bieber - Ghost

66. Adele - Oh My God

68. Mabel & 24kGoldn - Overthinking

Release Date: March 1, 2019 | UK Chart Peak: DNC

I will keep this track a secret without giving any spoilers but it is a MOMENT in the show. :D

54. Anne-Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh Oh)

Release Date: July 23, 2021 | UK Chart Peak: 10
Adam's Chart Peak: 10 | Chart Run: 10-12-x-35-27-26-28-x-47-50-x-39-x-21-33-x-45-x-35-27-x (14 weeks)

2021 EOY Position: 52

The last time we see Little Mix in the top 10 is with their collaboration with Anne-Marie on Kiss My (Uh Oh). The song is fun and I live for Jade in this video, but it does seem a bit of a step down for LM.

Release Date: January 21, 2022off | UK Chart Peak: DNC
Adam's Chart Peak: 26 | Chart Run: 26-x (1 week)

Another New Music Friday find here at #53. Seeing Cody Simpson still releasing in 2022 was quite a throwback feel. It's a generic dance-pop style that we're used to with these collaborations but it's alright.

52. SIX - Six

Release Date: August 31, 2018 | UK Chart Peak: DNC
Adam's Chart Peak: 21 | Chart Run: 37-27-41-50-x-48-30-26-25-21-28-22-26-30-35-38-46-x-44-x-26-34-x-38-x-42-x-37-34-31-

I'm leaving you here with a raw rehearsal from the original West End cast of Six. An ever-reappearing track in my chart, it is just the perfect ending to a brilliant show. Six deserves all the success it receives.

Release Date: March 1, 2019 | UK Chart Peak: DNC
Adam's Chart Peak: DNC | Chart Run: N/A

Closing off the lower 50 of the EOY chart we finish with JD's track where we learn about his upbringing in the show. If you dive into the lyrics of this track it is quite harrowing and Jamie Muscato plays this part to perfection.

50. Little Mix - Happiness

Release Date: October 16, 2020 | UK Chart Peak: 43

Entering the top 50 we have the girls with Happiness. A penned self-loving song, this is quite underrated in terms of their discography.

49. Sam Feldt & Rita Ora - Follow Me

Release Date: December 10, 2021 | UK Chart Peak: DNC
Adam's Chart Peak: 03 | Chart Run: 16-13-3-5-6-18-15-27-38-x (9 weeks)

Another very bland generic dance collab here with Sam Feldt and Rita Ora. Rita sounds great as always but this song doesn't really take off and didn't even manage to hit the top 100 officially.
