Scream 5 premiered January 14th, 2022.

Scream 4 April 15th, 2011.

Scream 3 February 4th, 2000.

Scream 2 December 12th, 1997.

Scream December 20th, 1996.

I know you're shit-posting, but literally none of the Screams have ever premiered on Halloween.

As for the trailer - looks good! The Neve situation sucks, but I'm sort of glad Sydney is sitting this one out since it looks to be in New York and might not make sense for her to go there. I kind of assume they only wanted her in a small part and didn't want to pay her, so she was like "lol nope". I just wish it had been handled better because the movie does look good.

Yeah all films quality are reflective on their release date.

Do you not get bored trolling lol.

It's worked out great Jenna has become the new 'IT' girl all of a sudden after her Wednesday show on Netflix.

I thought that was Wednesday!!

Eh?? Scream avoiding Halloween month even for its trilogy is mind-BOGGLIN!!! Scared of the bigger Halloween hits then. I was REET.

I think avoiding Halloween season has actually benefitted it and it's legacy tbh. Halloween season for horrors are usually just "2 week wonders". The horror movies that do the best/become the most well received are the ones that avoid Halloween tbh ('Smile' is included as that was a September release - managed to grow each week before dying off after Halloween, but by that point it'd reached it's maximum theatre run anyway)

I'm so, SO excited for a new setting! That is a great teaser!

I hope

Kirby isn't the killer! I think that'd be predictable + I don't think there's anyway they'd make it make sense - also, I think that Neve will have a surprise cameo whether it's at the end setting up 7 or what, idk

Really helps that the new cast are so likeable!

Do you not get bored trolling lol.

lmao I wonder about that honestly! Don't get me wrong - I love a good trolling, but doing it 24/7 would even make ME tired. JFC.

Jenna Ortega is going to be such a massive box office draw for this.

Oh no you better DON'T!!

No one seen this then? I loved.

Yes, it was brilliant!! The scariest that the Scream franchise has ever been in my opinion. Such a love letter to all that has come before it too.

I wrote a bit more over on Letterboxd.

I CANNOT wait to watch this, I seem to be seeing a lot of positivity?!

I'm trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible but I see people ranking this quite highly.

Franchise best at the domestic box office. $44.5m. Crazy good for the 5th sequel in a slasher franchise! I think VII will open with more tbh, coz this movie has had such a positive reaction!

It’s already out performed Scream 4’s entire box office run ($38.18m)

Given the news in the last 24 hours I would be surprised if this franchise would still move forward in the immediate future.

Can we have Neve Campbell back? Thanks!

That was my first instinct, but, why in hell would she want to return to this franchise given everything that’s going on?

I think it’s probably best to put this on pause for now, come back in a few years with fresh eyes and perhaps a fresh cast.

And a fresh production company. There is no way there will be no boycott until Spyglass are no longer involved. Firing someone for pay disparities is one thing but firing someone and defame someone’s character for saying stuff she has never said… it’s bad for them.

I will not be watching anymore Scream movies legally until Spyglass are no longer involved, Neve or no Neve.

Edit: it also puts things into perspective when Noah Schnapp, Gal Gadot, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman etc… have all actually said some pretty horrendous and islamophobic and racist things, but absolutey nothing done to them. As well as them still releasing The Flash with Ezra Miller..
