Dan Evans shrugged off a desperate second set to sink Spain’s Albert Ramos-Viñolas and steer Great Britain into the quarter-finals of the United Cup in Sydney. Evans’s 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win gave his side an unassailable lead in their Group D matchup following Saturday’s wins for Cameron Norrie – who beat Rafael Nadal – and Katie Swan in the inaugural mixed-team event.

Wimbledon's decision to ban Russian and Belarusian players from playing in the 2022 tournament "changed nothing", says world number five Aryna Sabalenka.

Belarusian Sabalenka was one of several top players to miss out on the Grand Slam, after Wimbledon imposed the ban following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Organisers were subsequently fined and the tournament was stripped of its ranking points by the ATP and WTA.

"I'm just really disappointed sport is somehow in politics," said Sabalenka.

Great to see Britain the first locked in qualifier in the United Cup, wasn't expecting it going into the tournament but I think there was a bit of luck with the late withdrawals of Kyrgios and Carreno Busta.

Looking forward to the Netflix show "Break Point" starting in a couple of weeks just before the Australian Open!

Rankings are an absolute mess currently thanks to the shambles of last year. Djok and Nadal to win the first 3 majors and someone new to win the US Open as is now tradition.

Not long until the .Australian Open begins.

Curious to see how Nick Kyrgios goes. Most people either love or hate him.

Australian Open going to be without the #1 ranked men's player again, as Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn due to injury.

Bit up in the air for Raducanu too as she had to retire from a match yet again, at the warm-up tournament in Auckland. :(

Idk, am I actually here for Djokovic to come back fighting at AO? Nadal doesn't seem to be in a position to win it again, he started the season by losing his first couple of matches.

oh too bad Alcaraz is gonna miss AU :/ Nadal is gonna flop hard, never seen him so out of shape

Korda should have won against Djo but he panicked as usual

Burrage defeated Czech Barbora Palicova 6-1 6-2 and will play France's Selena Janicijevic in the next round.

But British number three Katie Boulter lost 6-1 6-3 to Russian teenager Polina Kudermetova.

Novak Djokovic, women's world number two Ons Jabeur and six other players will form the first executive committee of the controversial Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA).

The breakaway organisation was first unveiled in 2020 by Djokovic and others - a move which divided the sport.

The PTPA wants to increase the power of the players, taking it away from the current bodies - the ATP and WTA.

Co-founder Vasek Pospisil will also be on the first executive committee.

The Canadian will be joined by Hubert Hurkacz and Paula Badosa, both ranked 11th in the respective rankings, Americans John Isner and Bethanie Mattek-Sands, plus China's Zheng Saisai.

Big Win for Jack Draper in Adelaide beating Tommy Paul in straight sets.

Although he’s just been drawn against Nadal in 1st round of Aussie Open!

Kinda feeling Nadal could lose, he's totally out of shape. Murray-Berretini in R1 will be interesting too.
Big Win for Jack Draper in Adelaide beating Tommy Paul in straight sets.

And now Khachanov too

I hope Nadal-Draper is likely to be a night session? Because for me, that is the first round match to watch.

I will be gutted it Draper goes straight out. It won’t be long until he is seeded himself
