"This is an iconic venue and to get to come over here and play the sport I've always loved and do it as a job is quite incredible. So really excited to be here," said Humphries.

Rob Cross has continued his red hot form by sweeping both tournaments Down Under as the World Series of Darts comes to an end for 2023.

Cross won the New South Wales Darts Masters sweeping aside Damon Heta just as he did to Peter Wright albeit not at the 109 heights that he reached in his semi-final with an 8-1 win.

This with a 91 average and 44.4% on the outer ring and three 180's. But he adds to one in 2018 and now two in 2023, all three have come in the tournaments Down Under

Snakebite' Peter Wright may not have had the greatest year of his career so far in 2023. Nevertheless, the Scotsman could soon be making a interesting piece of history on the European Tour.

No players has featured at more European Tour events than Peter Wright in the history of the events. With his total appearances currently standing at 98, Wright is just two tournaments away from becoming the first players to reach three figures on the Euro Tour

Whoever wins tonight will be the world number 4, loser will be 5. One thing is for certain, i can't see the PDC overlooking Humphries for the PL again.

Luke Humphries secured his first major trophy to deny Gerwyn Price a second World Grand Prix title.

Humphries sealed a 5-2 victory with a 138 checkout at the Morningside Arena in Leicester following an equally impressive 170 checkout in the fifth set.

The 28-year-old won the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship but victory over Price was his first major title.

Price was aiming for his second World Grand Prix, winning previously in 2020.

The Welshman had beaten world number one and reigning world champion Michael Smith 4-2 in a high-quality semi-final on Saturday.

For the first time in seventeen years, James Wade is no longer among the top 16 on the PDC Order of Merit. 'The Machine' is in danger of slipping even further down the PDC Order of Merit in the coming months. After all, he has to defend semifinal spots at the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship. For the Grand Slam of Darts, Wade has not even qualified yet.
