Following on from 2021's 'TYRON', slowthai is back with new album 'UGLY' (which stands for 'U Gotta Love Yourself) which is out on March 3rd. Lead single 'SELFISH' is out today and it looks as though it'll be a very punk-influenced album!

 

Although there are no credited features on it, collaborators on 'UGLY' have been confirmed as Fontaines D.C., Ethan P. Flynn, Jockstrap's Taylor Skye, Beabadoobee's guitarist Jacob Bugden and Liam Toon.

'Selfish' is an absolute banger, great to hear another song with more of a punk edge to it from him. Maybe not quite as great a lead single as 'MAZZA' but that was a high bar!

 

Very excited for the Fontaines D.C. collab.

Feel Good out now! This is another great track, shaping up to be a good record!

 

Shaping up to be his best one yet for me, I love his indie tracks! ‘Deal Wiv It’ is my favourite of those currently.

Hmmm, unfortunately 'Feel Good' is one of my least favourite songs I've heard from him to date. I don't hate it but it feels very underwritten and dare I say basic. Here's hoping that ends up being the worst song on the album. I am still loving 'Selfish' so still keeping my hopes up.

 

I did like the music video though, not a super original concept but still fun and I think I spied a Flat Eric cameo which I have to stan x

This seems to have been swept under the carpet so far - what a shame, I enjoy his music, especially his debut album.
