He specializes in EDM, Latin trap and rap. He is known for his Bzrp Music Sessions, a series of independent tracks which he records with a wide variety of artists. He was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Producer in 2021. - Wikipedia Shakira Before Shakira took the stage alongside Jennifer Lopez at the 2020 Super Bowl, she told Apple Music that the performance was intended “to celebrate Latin culture and the importance of women in the industry.” It was the realization of a dream that the singer—born Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1977—has worked towards since she started writing songs at 8 years old and released her debut album, Magia, at 13. Following years of success in the Latin music world, she set her sights on conquering the English-language charts, soliciting the help of Gloria Estefan on her 2001 crossover hit “Whenever, Wherever,” the lead single from her multiplatinum-selling fifth album, Laundry Service. Combining poetic lyrics with tropical rhythms, pop hooks, and influences from folk to electronica, she quickly became one of the best-selling Latin artists in history and a worldwide star. 2005’s “Hips Don’t Lie” inspired legions of fans to emulate her dance moves, while 2009’s “She Wolf” became a club hit thanks to its sultry beat and ferocious lyrics. She’s since added to her resume with the 2010 World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” collaborations with Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, and Pitbull, among others, and the 2016 Spanish hit “Chantaje”—all of it confirming she’s truly a global icon whose talents defy boundaries. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Bizarrap 2023 31 Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Bizarrap & Shakira) -NAS- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 0 x Top 10 | 0 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Shakira 2002 02 Whenever, Wherever -1- MILLIONAIRE 2002 03 Underneath Your Clothes -2- 2002 17 Objection (Tango) -3- 2006 09 Don't Bother -1- 2006 01 Hips Don't Lie (feat. January 27, 20233 yr big yes at Sub Focus getting his first top 40 hit in a decade and Dimension getting his first altogether! Desire really ought to have done it for them given it was Sub Focus' biggest streaming hit ever (and I don't see RTF overtaking it in that regard) but this makes up for it at least.
January 27, 20233 yr The boy's a liarrrr :music: great start to the show with this also finally making it in!
January 27, 20233 yr I don;t think so, she has spotify streams also this week. 'Ready To Fly' was 3 places higher than it on Friday.
January 27, 20233 yr The appeal of PinkPantheress will be forever lost on me, but I suppose this is one of her better ones.
January 27, 20233 yr oh yay at PinkPantheress managing to scrape in as well, would've been a rather unjust #41 peak otherwise good to see Shakira get a second top 40 week too
January 27, 20233 yr oh nice to have Sub Focus and Pinkpantheress as newies both sound very nice guess pure Pink missed again if she's not 38-40
January 27, 20233 yr 'Ready To Fly' was 3 places higher than it on Friday. However it has had way more spotify streams this week and way more downloads, we will see.
January 27, 20233 yr Author 37 | 50 | 3rd week Popcaan and Drake We Caa Done 1st single from Great Is He Released: 6th January 2023 Label: OVO Sound Chart Statistics NE (12/01/2023) | 61-50-37 Sales: 10k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 96 Sales 95 Audio Streaming 42 Video Streaming Video TjJZNdLSexU Biography Popcaan Few artists have done more to cement dancehall reggae’s place in pop culture in the 21st century than Popcaan. His melodic sensibility and experimental instincts have ensured that the island style has remained as versatile as it is enduring. Born Andrae Hugh Sutherland in Saint Thomas, Jamaica, in 1988, Popcaan came up as a member of Vybz Kartel’s crew, stepping out with a standout feature on the 2010 smash “Clarks”, followed by a guest spot on Pusha T’s 2012 song “Blocka” and a sampled cameo on Kanye’s Yeezus in 2013. Then, in 2014, his mentor’s prison sentence paved the way for the protégé to become the master. Popcaan’s signing to Brooklyn’s Mixpak label—founder Dre Skull executive-produced his 2014 debut album, Where We Come From—indicated the global scope of his ambitions; so did the album’s sound, which put his formidable voice over honeyed synths with a distinctly pop air. Here and on the 2018 follow-up Forever, Popcaan proved himself not a fighter but a lover, preferring songs about romance over Kingston’s typical street squabbles and internecine beef. In 2018, years of collabs and co-signs with Drake came to fruition in the form of a deal with OVO Sound, who put out 2019’s Vanquish and 2020’s FIXTAPE. If Drake’s imprimatur has put extra shine on Popcaan’s throne, it’s his penchant for collaboration—racking up features with acts like Jamie xx, AlunaGeorge, Gorillaz and even Maroon 5—that has made him a household name. His openness to such seemingly unlikely hook-ups is one reason that he keeps multiple recording studios in Saint Thomas, along with a mobile set-up that can travel wherever he goes—spontaneity is key. “I like to have a studio wherever I am,” he told Apple Music. “I’m always open to do music.” - Apple Music Drake A couple of years after he broke into the mainstream with 2009’s So Far Gone, Drake was browsing art in Los Angeles when a piece caught his eye: a big neon sign that read, “LESS DRAKE, MORE TUPAC.” For a minute, he felt angry, embarrassed—he wanted to walk up and rip the sign off the wall. Instead, he bought it. After all, he figured, you get someone hanging your name next to Tupac’s, even if it’s only to take a shot at it? You must be doing something right. Born Aubrey Drake Graham in Toronto in 1986, Drake became—like Tupac—something of a generational voice, a prism for his pop-cultural moment. Was he an R&B singer who rapped or a rapper who sang? Was he really that sad, or just doing a bit? And if it wasn’t a bit, how could this guy—talented, intuitive, hardworking—really be so down? From minute one, there was something a little different about him: He could be confessional, vulnerable, but also incredibly coarse; he could make an earnest commitment one minute (“Take Care”) and be drunk-dialing the next (“Marvins Room”); he could convince you he was an underdog from his perch on top of the world (“Started from the Bottom”). Critics—and he’s had plenty—like to point out that he started as an actor: He played Jimmy Brooks in the Canadian teen show Degrassi: The Next Generation. But most of all, he felt like a person—someone who isn’t canceled by his paradoxes, but defined by them. Though the feelings remain (always feelings, big feelings), the sound—for the most part, courtesy of longtime affiliate Noah “40” Shebib—is always changing: a little dancehall here (“One Dance”), a little house there (“Passionfruit”), some old New Orleans bounce (“Nice for What”), a bit of Wu-style boom-bap (“Started from the Bottom”), some smooth, to-the-minute trap-soul (“Hotline Bling”). Like Kanye, Drake is as much a curator as he is a creator, an artist capable of arranging collaborators from a universe of styles and making them all fit into his personal vision—an approach that has made him one of the most definitive rappers and pop figures of his era. “I obviously spend a lot of time in my own world,” he told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe in 2016. “But when I do take a look at the broader scope of things, it’s often [in the studio]… Even though I don’t directly, literally address things in my music, I’ve always tried to make music that transcends gender, nationality—to try and unify people. Because that’s really what it’s about.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Popcaan 2014 10 Kisses For Breakfast (Melissa Steel feat. Popcaan) 2016 39 I'm In Control (AlunaGeorge feat.
