Plus streams are always nearly identical on Wed and Thu, so Pink and Rita losing so much

100% means some of their streams were not real sadly

They were real, just obviously generated by the same algorithm (and likely payola) as Sabrina Carpenter or Stephen Sanchez.

My Rita "fandom" has nothing to do with it so I'd appreciate my point not being belittled because it happens to be about an artist I like. I equally had no issue with the Stephen Sanchez or Sabrina Carpenter situations; they got a top 20 and a top 40 hit out of it respectively so the labels are hardly going to see it as a bad thing, and the latter got added to Capital's playlist which it almost certainly wouldn't have otherwise so these bursts, while short-lived, are obviously getting these songs and artists a bit more long-term attention + a higher peak that they wouldn't have achieved otherwise.

 

The likely payola behind it is no different to getting onto Hot Hits UK. People can stop the song playing very easily if they don't want to hear it. I've had autoplay on for ages and I'll only keep it playing if it's a song I actually want to hear (usually it's a song I've played a lot on Spotify anyway). There's really no reason for the streams not to count.

I'm not blaming her or her label more than anyone else for playing the game, just seemed like one of the most blatantly obvious situations we've had and alas it's now out of the Spotify top 200. :lol:

 

The sudden red flag drop for Pink is a bit more surprising though. I had assumed Trustfall was so high entirely on organic popularity.
