Can't get over how weird it feels to see just five of them there :(

The name change makes sense even more too, S Club 7 with only five people would feel even stranger.

That video was a hard watch. This is a situation that is so incredibly sad. :(

I totally understand and respect Hannah’s decision. I hope for the 5 remaining members that this will be a healing and positive endeavour. I’m still looking forward to seeing them, even though this is tinged with sadness.

I know I’m gonna get hate but at this point I think they should just postpone indefinitely. It’s clear from that video that they aren’t ready and I doubt they will be by October. I think Hannah made the right shout to be honest.

I don't think it's for anyone but the band themselves to judge whether it's the right time or not. October's still five months away and perhaps honouring Paul with the tour he was so excited for is exactly what they want to be doing? I think all we can do is respect each member's individual choice and hope they're getting so much support from each other, management and their friends and family during a time that must be so hard. Full respect to Hannah for stepping away when she needed to, but also the same respect to the other five for ploughing on, it can't be easy.

My feelings - it's only been 5 weeks since Paul passed away, so with this being their first moment of talking about it on camera, it's certainly going to be raw, and their tearfulness is understandable. Not being ready right now doesn't mean that they won't be by October though.

In terms of bereavement and work, most people would be lucky to get a couple of weeks before having to return to work. The S Club tour isn't for another 5 months, and it will be 6 months on from Paul's death. There will be distance by then, their grieving process will be at a different stage to what it is now. Between the 5 of them there must be a realisation and agreement that they feel they'll be ready by October, ready as they'll ever be to tour under these circumstances, and as fans I think we have to trust them. I'm not convinced it would be any more or less sad for them if they arbitrarily delayed the tour by a few more months, to be honest.

I think this situation is more acute for Hannah, what with her personal history with Paul that went beyond the band... as well as her seeming the most reluctant to even do it as a 7 in the first place. For her I understand and respect her choice to not put herself through this, though for the other 5 it might be what they need to do.

It's hard all round but they all have our support

That video was heartbreaking, so sad to see them upset. Sending them so much love :(

I totally get Hannah not being involved, love that they changed the name to honour Paul.

It’ll be so weird to see them as five piece, I’m sure they’ll do Paul proud! I’m sure them being with fans and doing something positive will help bring some happiness back into their lives after a huge loss. I agree with a lot that was said above from Jay and Joseph!

They really should just cancel this now, only 5 of them, awful circumstances it just isn't going to make for a fun and great tour.

I think it could be a positive thing for them and healing, they deserve some new positive memories.

Plus, we've got to be honest they need to make a living.

I think they'll make it a great tour and it'll be special, especially seeing how they tribute it to Paul during the show. I admire them for ploughing on.

In most regular circumstances as said above people in 'regular' jobs only have a limited time off work to grieve, they'll have had over 6 months, they should continue to work if they feel up to it.

I think it'd make a lot of fans happy to see them up on stage, trying to make something sad into something happy and a great way to honour Paul. I'm sure Paul would have wanted them to continue on, we know how much he loved S Club.

I lost one of my co-workers a few years ago, she was one of my best friends after having worked together for 5 years and spending lots of time together outside of work too. I was given 1 day off and that was for her funeral. It is a job at the end of the day so I understand why they are continuing. I have no doubt it will be incredibly tough for them but October is a long way away, time for them to look after each other and prepare one another.

I totally understand and respect Hannah's choice though.

Wish them all the very best.

I have to get this off my chest so apologies in advance if any of this comes across a little coarse.

I was so hoping that the wider reaction to this on socials etc was going to be a lot more supportive than it has broadly been. But this is where you see it's an impossible situation for them to go through, because whichever way they went, you're not pleasing everyone.

But it's sad to think that three years on from Caroline Flack and #bekind, that there's still a load of entitled and unfeeling arseholes that shouldn't be allowed on the internet. Pardon my French Karen on Twitter, but bugger your refund for a second and read the room.

This isn't a common or garden S Club 3 down your local student's union / bingo hall situation with one or two others not doing it. This is one of them no longer being on the same mortal plane, someone who was their bandmate and their brother from another who they grew up with and had a career with.

It's still massively raw for them right now, you only need look at how Jon and Jo in that video in particular were barely able to end their sentences without getting emotional. The fact that the five of them are even finding the strength to go ahead with this when they could have easily - and understandably - cancelled the entire tour is bloody admirable in my eyes and shows such resolve and spirit.

Of course Hannah won't now want to do it; of all of them, she was closest to Paul, and I admire her so much for doing what is best for her and her wellbeing. Quite frankly, when you're grieving the loss of anyone, there is no right or wrong way to feel or to handle it. The least thing people can do is respect their decision, whether certain members are now doing the tour or not.

Until I saw that video yesterday, I was still on the fence about whether or not I'd still go. But I'm going because as emotionally bittersweet as this tour is now going to be, they got me through so much that I found difficult growing up and I now wanna do the same, and in a way say goodbye in my own way to Paul and remember the joy they bought to my life growing up and the memories of - pardon the pun - the good times.

 Exactly!

It’s an impossible situation to please everyone. I’m not sure what the current status is with whether people are allowed to get refunds or not for this unforeseen circumstance but I really hope most people are still wanting to go. I certainly do.

Obviously the situation is awful but if this tour had been launched as a 5 piece S Club tour a lot of those tickets wouldn't have sold. The big selling point was it was all 7 original members who were going to give you a night reliving your youth.

Now it is a 5 piece and will no doubt be tinged with sadness. The tour now is very much not as it started or was sold as. Obviously that has been out of people's control but I don't blame people if they would prefer a refund now and aren't wanting to go.

Money is tight for a lot of people and a 5 piece tinged with sadness tpur might not seem worth the expense now. I know it is tragic why it has come to this but I doubt any tour promoter would have touched this tour with a barge pole had it started with only 5 members and that is where it is now.

S Club 7 created this incredible legacy and they’ll always be known for that, I don’t think a forum title change is required?

They will always be S Club7.

Rachel is busier than ever, rehearsing for the S Club tour, which kicks off in autumn 2023.

"We have mixed emotions about our tour because of everything that happened with Paul," Rachel says, referring to the tragic death of her bandmate Paul Cattermole. "One minute we're really emotional and then we're upbeat thinking of our memories, so it's a mix."

"It's so great to be back dancing again, though, and my body just instantly responds so well," Rachel shares, revealing that the band is working with a choreographer from L.A.

"It's just so fun. It doesn't feel like exercise and it's so great to be back with everyone."

Fans will be pleased to know the tour is set to be nostalgia-packed, with Rachel revealing that the band's signature moves from back in the day will be included in the all-new routines.

"There has to be those signature moves because for us, this is all about nostalgia and we want to give little nods to the old days," Rachel shared.

"Being famous so young really impacted my confidence," she confided. "I joined the band when I was 19, and when you're a teenager you're trying to fit in, you're trying to work everything out and I really didn't know who I was at that point.

"A lot of the time I had to just switch on a smile. I actually got very good at putting on the show face and pushing down everything that was really going on. I think that's what I really struggled with," she said.

"I honestly think I've felt my most confidence in the last few years, from finding my voice and finding what I really need in my life and setting those boundaries.

"I've done so much growing in the last few years, more than any time in my life, but still, feeling confident is a work in progress. One day I feel confident and the next day I don't, it's so changeable all the time. I'm just constantly figuring it out."

So lovely to hear an update on the tour and that they're planning it behind the scenes, I do hope we get an update soon perhaps with a new tour poster?
