March 10, 20233 yr Author  Missed the top 40 this week? Sigala, Mae Muller and Caity Baser featuring Stefflon Don Feels This Good 8th single from Every Cloud Released: 3rd February 2023 Label: Ministry of Sound Recordings Video dbWqXlLsX2Y Biography Sigala The Norfolk DJ and producer behind a string of house-pop hits in the 2010s, Sigala makes music that’s irresistible due to its joy and exuberance. His flair for songs full of sunny melodies and big energy reflects his solid grounding in soul, funk and pop gained while growing up and playing keyboards in teenage bands in Norwich (where he was born Bruce Fielder in 1992). He discovered his love of engineering and producing while messing about in a makeshift studio he built with a friend. His first chance to show off his playful sensibility was with his 2015 debut, “Easy Love”, on which he memorably repurposed the squeaky voice of the young Michael Jackson from the Jackson 5’s “ABC” into a piece of shiny dance pop. A No. 1 single, it sent Sigala up the ranks of festival DJs and Las Vegas club headliners. On later hits like 2016’s “Ain’t Giving Up” with Craig David and 2017’s “Came Here for Love” with Ella Eyre—both of which featured on his 2018 debut album, Brighter Days—Sigala reached further heights of pleasure and positivity by combining an eminently modern and tropical feel with old-school elements of disco and ‘90s house. A collaboration with The X Factor winner James Arthur, Sigala’s 2020 single “Lasting Lover” saw him build something fun and unique with the help of another borrowed hook: MGMT’s “Time to Pretend”. - Apple Music Mae Muller Mae Muller is the most enticing of propositions: a rising songwriting talent intent on telling it precisely like it is. Frank, funny, and endlessly relatable, the Little Mix and Sam Smith-approved singer is breathing new life into pop with her street-smart yet soulful compositions, and empowering others to speak their truths in the process. Dissecting dysfunctional relationships and inconvenient emotions with wit and verve her 2020 EP, no one else, not even you marked a new creative peak for the North Londoner. Sonically, the seven-song collection was a huge step forward too, finding Mae’s supple vocals as suited to trap beats as they are funk guitar or acoustic pop, and featuring songwriting collaborations with Rick Nowels (Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa), Kenny Beats (Aitch, FKA Twigs), Skyler Stonestreet (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber) and Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran). Mae has gone on to release some incredible collaborative singles in the past year. “Better Days”, a joint single with NEIKED and Polo G, garnered astronomical success across the globe following a viral moment on TikTok. The song has received over 1 billion streams and been certified Platinum in the US & Canada since its release and subsequently saw Mae make her debut in the Billboard Hot 100 with the song climbing to #23. After her sold out UK tour in April, this summer saw Mae take to festival stages across the UK to huge crowds including the likes of Reading & Leeds, Bestival, Isle of Wight and Parklife. - Spotify Caity Baser Caity Baser is an English singer-songwriter, originally from Southampton but based in Brighton. She came to public attention in 2022 with her song "X & Y", which went viral on TikTok, and charted at No. 76 on the UK Singles Chart. She then started to become known further in 2023 with other releases including "Pretty Boys", which was playlisted by BBC Radio 1, and entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 91. She was also featured on Radio 1's Future Artists with Jack Saunders. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Sigala 2015 01 Easy Love -1- MILLIONAIRE 2015 03 Sweet Lovin' (feat. March 10, 20233 yr Author  Missed the top 40 this week? Fred again.., The Streets and Dermot Kennedy Mike (desert island duvet) 6th single from Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022) Released: 3rd March 2023 Label: Warner Music UK Video Yb07Skprkos Biography Fred again.. Born in 1993, London-based songwriter/producer Fred John Philip Gibson treats his electro and rave-inspired songs as diary entries. But the artist, who performs under the name Fred Again.., doesn’t limit the subject matter to himself. On albums like 2021’s Actual Life (April 14 - December 17 2020) and its sequel, Actual Life 2 (February 2 - October 15 2021), Fred invited his friends into the studio to record their personal stories and then sprinkled them throughout the album. (The obvious exception was an epic Kodak Black sample on “Kahan (Last Year)”.) The songwriter has also worked with stars such as Eminem and Ed Sheeran, but Fred’s longest collaboration is with his brothers, whom he shares his tracks with before they’re released. “It’s such a blessing to work with both of my brothers,” Fred explained in an interview with Apple Music. “I’ll spend hours and hours working on a tune, and they’ll hear it how I will, but without all the baggage. They bring a fresh ear.” - Apple Music The Streets The Streets are an English music project led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner. The project has released six studio albums: Original Pirate Material (2002), A Grand Don't Come for Free (2004), The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living (2006), Everything Is Borrowed (2008), Computers and Blues (2011), an internet-only album Cyberspace and Reds (2011) and a string of successful singles in the mid-2000s, including "Has It Come to This?", "Fit but You Know It", "Dry Your Eyes", "When You Wasn't Famous" and "Prangin' Out". - Wikipedia Dermot Kennedy Dermot Kennedy’s rip-roaring, free-flowing folk-pop grew out of years singing over rowdy crowds at local bars and open mics and in the streets of Dublin. Born in 1991, the singer/songwriter was raised in the small Irish village of Rathcoole, where he began writing songs as a teenager before studying classical music at Maynooth University and forming folk band Shadows and Dust. He soon set off on his own, busking on Dublin’s Grafton Street, the same spot favored by famous street musicians like Glen Hansard, The Frames frontman and Once actor. Kennedy built up his raspy, throat-ripping howls on the pavement, but found his largest following online after he self-released romantic ballads like 2015’s “An Evening I Will Not Forget” and 2016’s “After Rain”. A larger audience exposed him to a few key producers, including Stephen Kozmeniuk (Koz) and Mike Dean, both of whom have helped enhance the poetic intimacy of Kennedy’s songwriting with rumbling beats and expansive electronic production. Finding a delicate balance between soaring folk and understated hip-hop has been the key to Kennedy’s sound, starting with his 2019 debut album, Without Fear. His strengths come in turning quiet melodies into rousing anthems, including “Power Over Me”, a propulsive paean that captures the intoxicating rush of becoming enraptured, and “Outnumbered”, which feels almost gospel-like in its cathartic chorus. Meanwhile, his voice—a slightly weathered mix of grit and gravel—ties it all together, bringing the raw intensity he learned as a busker to pop charts around the world. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Fred again.. 2020 57 Charades (Headie One & Fred again..) -1- 2020 51 GANG (Headie One & Fred again..) -2- 2021 36 Marea (We've Lost Dancing) (Fred again.. & The Blessed Madonna) -1- 2022 78 Jungle -1- 2022 27 Turn On The Lights again.. A classic songwriter - awarded a prestigious Ivor Novello for Songwriter of the Year in 2014 – relied on his passion more than ever when it came to crafting his new pop-leaning, emotionally-healing fourth album. The whirlwind around his debut had kickstarted a work ethic that became an obsession that culminated in crippling anxiety, leading to a dark period of mental health that stalked most of Odell’s 2018 and 19. Odell wrote his way through it, eventually letting down his guard and pouring out his feelings. These broader lyrical horizons needed to be matched by a musical expansion, with a lot of the songs on the new album leaning into a more DIY, electronic, bedroom pop sound. The love of this new direction chimed with the pandemic's arrival and songs were crafted in a more threadbare way around instruments he had at hand, like Moog synths. It was a move underpinned by both necessity and a desire to explore. Four albums into his career and Odell has made a record that feels free of expectation and of other people's perceptions of who he is as an artist. While darkness was the inspiration, this multi-layered, genre-bending pop album is full of light and hope, even in the strangest of times. - Spotify Top 100 Chart History 2012 10 Another Love -3- MILLIONAIRE 2013 67 Can't Pretend -1- 2013 44 Hold Me -2- 2013 46 Grow Old With Me -4- 2013 92 I Know -5- 2014 07 Real Love -NAS- 2016 40 Magnetised -1- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 2 x Top 10 | 2 x Top 20 | 3 x Top 40 | 7 x Top 100 Social Media Tom Odell http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

March 10, 20233 yr Author 39 | 39 | 20th week Meghan Trainor Made You Look 2nd single from Takin' It Back Released: 21st October 2022 Label: Epic Records Chart Statistics NE (03/11/2022) | 28-14-8-4-3-2-7-12-23-66-5-7-10-12-31-37-38-34-39-39 Sales: 400k+ Certification: Gold Status: Accelerated Chart Ratio 01 Sales 04 Audio Streaming 03 Video Streaming Video gPCCYMeXin0 Biography Even before she dropped her debut single in 2014, Meghan Trainor already had it made. By that point, the 20-year-old Nantucket native had achieved the dream of many aspiring singer/songwriters: to infiltrate the inner sanctum of Nashville’s Music Row. But as it turns out, co-writing songs for country stars like Rascal Flatts and Hunter Hayes was the warm-up for what came next. Upon its release in the summer of 2014, Trainor’s first solo single, “All About That Bass,” swiftly became the most inescapable pop earworm of the year, thanks to a rump-shaking, retro-R&B sound that filled the void vacated by the late Amy Winehouse and a then-dormant Adele. But not only did the song transform Trainor into an instant, cross-generational pop star, its celebration of plus-size physiques made her a spokesmodel for body positivity at a time when there were few such role models in the entertainment industry. (And that motivational ethos would make her a natural choice to judge singing-competition shows like The Voice UK.) With the release of the full-length Title in 2015, Trainor became just the 13th woman in pop history to have both her first single and first album go to No. 1 on the Billboard charts, but on the follow-up, Thank You, she proved she was no mere throwback artist, as singles like “Me Too” and “No” updated her old-school aesthetic for modern-day dance floors. And on 2020’s Treat Myself, she further immersed herself in contemporary club sounds, applying her Aretha-sized sass to the synth-pumped thump of “No Excuses” and EDM-washed “Wave.” But even as her muse has drifted from Motown to Minaj (who turns up on the ASMR&B duet “Nice to Meet Ya”), Trainor’s self-help mission remains on course. “Every message that I give when I’m writing songs, it’s all to me,” she told Apple Music, where she also hosts Dirty Pop Radio. “I keep listening to these songs and I keep having to remind myself, ‘baby girl, love yourself.’” Trainor’s ongoing success lies in her ability to find new and creative ways to translate those personal affirmations into communal anthems. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2014 01 All About That Bass -1- MILLIONAIRE 2014 02 Lips Are Movin -2- 2015 20 Dear Future Husband -3- 2015 01 Marvin Gaye (Charlie Puth feat. They’d hang out all day, bonding, making music, seeing friends, whatever. People always coming and going, never a dull moment. Sometimes, Juice would wake LAROI up in the middle of the night, wild with excitement about a track LAROI had to put a verse on. Other mornings, LAROI would wake up to his and Juice’s managers saying it was time to pack up and head to Texas. Like, now. He was 15, 16 years old. “I’d never experienced anything like that,” he said. “Especially coming from Australia, where everything is kind of like its own bubble.” Not that 15-year-olds outside Australia would be used to it either. But such is the meteoric ascent of a talented young rapper circa 2020. Born Charlton Howard in 2003, LAROI—whose name is a reference to the Kamilaroi Indigenous nation, in which he has family roots—grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, and began to work on music when he was a pre-teen. Like Juice WRLD, Post Malone or even Lil Peep, LAROI’s key tracks—“ALWAYS DO”, “TRAGIC” and the Juice WRLD collaboration “GO”—blend ultra-melodic trap with shades of alternative rock and classic pop, a fusion that has put him on the front burner of pop-rap. His first album, F*CK LOVE, hit the Top 10 before he turned 18. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 43 GO (The Kid LAROI & Juice WRLD) -1- 2020 38 SO DONE -2- 2020 66 ALWAYS DO -AT- 2020 02 WITHOUT YOU -3- MILLIONAIRE 2020 63 Reminds Me Of You (Juice WRLD & The Kid LAROI) -NAS- 2021 47 No Return (Polo G feat.
