Posted December 27, 200618 yr http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/russy68/jesterttcopy.jpg This was the first year (well, 10 months) of my Personal Chart, so I am pleased to present my top 50 of the year based on chart runs on my Personal Charts. My huge thanks to Tyron for adding this up for me :P The positions from 50-20 will be in groups of 5, with chart run, pic of the single and a brief write up. 20-11 will be posted in 2's with a bit more information, and the Top 10 will be posted one at a time with videos. Any comments are as always both welcome and appreciated :party2:
December 27, 200618 yr Author 50. Booty Luv - Boogie 2Nite Chart Info: Peak 1 (4-2-2-1) 4 weeks to date Points: 155 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/HK27CDX.JPG At 50 we have my current #1, a climber after 4 weeks on the chart. With vocals from the ladies from Big Brovaz, this funky Dance tune is a firm favourite of mine already! 49. The Pipettes - Pull Shapes Chart Info: Peak 3 (3-6-8-11-17-22-24-28-28) 9 weeks Points: 198 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/MI071CDS.JPG A summer favourite, Pull Shapes is the highlight of the excellent album from the polka-dot clad Pipettes. I have Mr Grandwicky to thank for getting me into the Pipettes, so cheers, Nicky :P 48. Snow Patrol - You're All I Have Chart Info: Peak 6 (6-6-11-16-18-20-23-25-28) 9 weeks Points: 216 points http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000FDKARU.01._SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg The first single taken from the year's biggest (and best imo) album Eyes Open, You're All I Have is a wonderful introduction to the album and a good rocky tune. (it's almost chirpy as well ) 47. My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade Chart Info: Peak 3 (8-7-3-8-14-22-29-31-32-36-38) 11 weeks Points: 223 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/W740CD.JPG The epic Welcome To The Black Parade sneaks into my chart at 47. Not bad for a song that has been described as Bohemian Rhapsody for the Emo generation! 46. Nelly Furtado - All Good Things (Come To An End) Chart Info: Peak 1 (15-1-1-1-1-2) 6 weeks to date Points: 225 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1714378.JPG This beautiful tune was co-written by Chris Martin, and spent a whole month atop my personal chart :o This is, for me, the highlight of the Loose album, and shows Nelly at her finest. Almost as good as Try!
December 27, 200618 yr Ooh Pull Shapes-Great song!!! Nelly is brill too but I've always found Booty Luv a bit bland for some reason :-(
December 27, 200618 yr I love Booty Luv now, I'm really getting into it! :D And Nelly too of course  I didn't know you'd be doing a countdown Matt, looking forward to it ^_^
December 27, 200618 yr The only track I don't like seem to be The Pipettes so far, can't really see what is so special about them
December 27, 200618 yr Author 45. Embrace - Nature's Law Chart Info: Peak 2 (20-3-2-3-9-14-18-26) 8 weeks Points: 233 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/ISOM103MS.JPG The lead single from the brilliant album This New Day, Natures Law is Embrace at their best - Athemic, Loud and Emotional, with sweeping strings and a gospel choir. Tune! 44. The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger Chart Info: Peak 4 (4-6-12-20-16-18-20-23-26-34-39-40-40) 15 weeks Points: 235 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/FALLOUTCD1.JPG This is a song with attitude, which rather demands to be listened to and enjoyed. This reminds me of going to Alton Towers back in the summer. 43. Snow Patrol ft. Martha Wainwright - Set The Fire To The Third Bar Chart Info: Peak 1 (2-1-4-6-7-9-13) 7 weeks to date Points: 245 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1714673.JPG I fell in love with this track the first time I listened to Eyes Open, and I continue to appreciate it more and more as time goes by. In a word - Stunning. 42. Robbie Williams - Lovelight Chart Info: Peak 1 (6-1-3-9-12-16-17-18) 8 weeks to date Points: 246 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDCHS5162.JPG The far superior single from Rudebox so far, this funky little number covers the relatively unknown soul anthem by Lewis Taylor. Imo, this represents the quality on Rudebox far more than the single of the same name. 41. Oakenfold ft. Brittany Murphy - Faster, Kill Pussycat Chart Info: Peak 5 (21-12-10-9-5-13-20-22-26-25) 10 weeks Points: 247 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/12PER008.JPG Featuring the powerful vocals of soap star Brittany Murphy, this stonking choon rocked the summer for me. I still love it, despite chronic overplay!
December 27, 200618 yr Love Snow Patrol Track! OMG! Faster Kill Pussycat!!!!!!!    I Soooo need to go Buy That From Itunes Now! Love It!! :cheer: :cheer:
December 27, 200618 yr Author Thanks for the comments so far, guys, i'm glad you are enjoying this :D
December 27, 200618 yr Great chart so far Matt. :D Some real corkers! I love Pull Shapes but it had a $h!t chart run for me so missed out on the top 100. Your obviously not as hardcore as myself though, only doing a top 50. :(
December 27, 200618 yr Lovelight is great, one of Robbie's greatest songs for some time - if only it was bigger :( And I started to LOVE Oakenfold towards the end, which is unusual for me because I'm not a great lover of dance music tbh.
December 27, 200618 yr The Fratellis and Robbie Williams songs are AMAZE :D Although having the Pipettes in the chart is a crime :(
December 27, 200618 yr Author 40. The Kooks - Naive Chart Info: Peak 7 (9-16-16-7-7-11-13-21-27-27) 10 weeks Points: 256 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/VSCDT1911.JPG This tune has a habit of invading my head for days and days! This was the breakthrough hit for the Kooks, although not the best of theirs this year... 39. Beyonce - Irreplacable Chart Info: Peak 2 (29-20-16-9-3-2-4-5-6) 9 weeks to date Points: 275 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697024472.JPG Surprise hit of the year! I cast aside my general hate for Beyonce (re-inforced by the terrible Deja Vu) as this lovely song crept up my chart to peak at 2 behind the equally lovely Nelly Furtado. I suspect this will be the only time beyonce is in an end of year chart for me! 38. The Feeling - Sewn Chart Info: Peak 2 (2-2-3-5-11-15-18-20-xx-27-30) 10 weeks Points: 276 http://hitparade.ch/cdimg/the_feeling-sewn_s.jpg The debut single from The Feeling, this was my first ever #2 single ^_^ I love the Feeling, and I want their babies! 37. Amy Winehouse - Rehab Chart Info: Peak 8 (11-9-9-8-8-8-10-13-15) 9 weeks to date Points: 278 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1709534.JPG Another grower, this gospel number from notorious pisshead Amy Winehouse is all about drying out. Sage advice. 36. Bodyrox ft. Luciana - Yeah Yeah Chart Info: Peak 4 (4-10-10-5-7-16-16-24-25-24-27) 11 weeks to date Points: 283 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1712693.JPG I can teach you a thing or two, yeah yeah! ^_^
December 27, 200618 yr Your chart is really good so far, good to see Booty Luv so high on just 4 weeks its high up on mine after 4 weeks aswell :o Also Pipettes & Beyonce :cheer:
December 27, 200618 yr The Only Kooks Track I Really Really Like  Beyonce's Best, she is much better like this, not when she is boucing around like some re**** In Deja Vu :puke2: The Feeling! Great Song, From A Great Album! I Love Amy Winehouse, Obsessed! Rehab is Amazing! Bodyrox is overated and Irritating after a while :( Great List! Soo Far
December 27, 200618 yr Author 35. Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit Chart Info: Peak 5 (9-6-6-5-8-13-17-24-28-29-30-31) 12 weeks to date Points: 283 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DATA140CDS.JPG According to HMV, this is 'infectiously filthy peak time bass slipper'. Sounds fair enough to me! 34. Madonna - Get Together Chart Info: Peak 7 (11-11-10-11-12-7-10-16-18-25-27) 11 weeks Points: 286 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/W725CD2.JPG I didn't realise I liked this song so much! Oh well, its is one of the best tracks from Confessions On A Dancefloor, so fair enough. 33. Muse - Supermassive Black Hole Chart Info: Peak 5 (19-10-12-6-5-12-16-14-14-22-26-29) 12 weeks Points: 295 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/HEL3001CD.JPG A brilliant comeback from Muse and the lead single from 'Black Holes and Revelations' this superb tune did rather well in my chart. 32. Nelly Furtado - Maneater Chart Info: Peak 2 (11-4-2-2-5-9-17-18-20-28-30) 11 weeks Points: 305 http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B000FOT3AY.02.MZZZZZZZ.jpg Nelly's first UK #1, and a change of direction after Folklore. Funky beats and a hard bassline equalled a massive hit, even if it was deleted once it left the top spot. Sigh. 31. David Guetta vs. The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) Chart Info: Peak 2 (2-4-5-6-10-14-21-26-29-30-30-30-31-32-38-39) 16 weeks Points: 309 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDGUS42.JPG I will let infomative HMV sum this one up: Starting life in the underground as a naughty bootleg at the end of ’05, David’s ‘Love Don’t Let Me Go’ disappeared on a smutty three day bender with Tocadisco’s remix of The Egg’s classic, ‘Walking Away’ and somehow re-emerged as a body-popping b-line laced with cheeky electro reverb and staccato synths. ^_^
December 27, 200618 yr Author 30. All Saints - Rock Steady Chart Info: Peak 2 (8-3-2-5-6-10-13-17-18-19) 10 weeks to date Points: 309 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/ALLSAINTS.JPG A cracking comeback song for the All Saints, a bit sassy and a bit reggae. 29. Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child Chart Info: Peak 5 (6-8-6-6-5-13-19-23-23-23-26-26-26) Points: 323 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/VOODOOCDS.JPG Funky dance tune from some ozzies and Izzy from Neighbours ^_^ 28. September - Satellites Chart Info: Peak 4 (9-8-5-4-6-6-7-13-20-21-30-40) 12 weeks Points: 323 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDGLOBE538.JPG The dance smash that never was :( This was put back and put back by their record company and in the end no-one was interested. Sigh again. 27. Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back Chart Info: Peak 10 (21-21-18-17-13-13-12-12-10-11-13-17-28) 14 weeks Points: 327 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876886832.JPG I'm bringing Pastry Back. Yeah. Watch out for the Walrus! 26. Christina Aguilera - Hurt Chart Info: Peak 1 (7-1-3-6-4-7-10-13-15-16) 10 weeks to date Points: 328 http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697025042.JPG The best track on Back To Basics by a long way, this song is truly beautiful and very emotional.
December 27, 200618 yr Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit - This ****ed Me Off after a while, but still a catchy number ^_^ Madonna - Get Together - Great Track, From A Great Album, and a Great Artist  Muse - Supermassive Black Hole - I Really was surprised by this, and Muse's album actually, i love this, it has a Evil Dark side too it ^_^ Nelly Furtado - Maneater - Total Club Anthem, Defines 2006 for Me, Fab Artist   David Guetta vs. The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) - This was great, i dont know what it was, but i thought the vocals made this track Great ^_^ All Saints - Rock Steady - Great Pop Song! Shame about All Saints Flopping though :( Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child - Amazing! Makes Me Wanna Dance! 'Here Come The Drums! September - Satellites - such an underated song, and i really thought it was going to do well :( Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back - Hmmm i have mixed Feelings for this song, Justin Timberlake has went way downhill imo :( Christina Aguilera - Hurt - Great Song! Deffo a highlight of B2B, but should never ever have been a single -_-
