December 29, 200618 yr Author As promised, I will now be posting my Top 20 Albums of 2006. These will exclude Greatest Hits and Compilations, and will only have albums released this year.
December 29, 200618 yr Author 20. Pink - I'm Not Dead http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876803302.JPG Best Single: Who Knew? Best Album Track: Cuz I Can Only the second Pink album I own, I first heard the album after the wonderful Who Knew? U and Ur Hand also made we want to get the album properly and I actually bought it in a sale yesterday! 19. Take That - Beautiful World http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1715551.JPG Best Single: Patience Best Album Track: Shine The brilliant comeback album from TT saw them hitting the top of the charts and sellling a million in a month! :o A more mature sound heralds the continuation of their successful career.
December 29, 200618 yr Author 18. Lily Allen - Alright, Still http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/3670282.JPG Best Single: LDN Best Album Track: Alfie My love/hate relationship with Ms Allen continues, even if I like the album! I really went off her after a few listens of Smile, then the brilliant LDN came along. Don't you just hate it when that happens?! 17. Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/GWENPRECD.JPG Best Single: Wind It Up Best Album Track: Wonderful Life The album is already under-rated, as it seems people have been put off by the oddness of Wind It Up. The whole album, is, in fact superb. Tracks like Wonderful life, Yummy and Early Winter make it all worthwhile.

AWESOME  Take That - Beautiful World - i havent listened to this, and dont intend too -_- Lily Allen - Alright, Still - I Like LDN and i suppose Smile was Ok, and The Littlest Things is growing, i might buy the album soon ^_^ 17. December 30, 200618 yr Author 16. The Automatic - Not Accpeted Anywhere http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/bun107.JPG Best Single: Raoul Best Album Track: You Shout You Shout You Shout You Shout This is one of those albums I bought on an impulse on the basis on one single - Monster and ended up really liking. Raoul is an amzing song, and a favourite of mine for a while now. 15. Corrine Bailey Rae - Corrine Bailey Rae http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CORRINETEMP.JPG Best Single: Put Your Records On Best Album Track: Breathless I still can't believe that Corrine is English - she has such soul! A beautiful and relaxing album.
December 30, 200618 yr Author 14. The Pipettes - We Are The Pipettes http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDPIP.JPG Best Single: Pull Shapes Best Album Track: We Are The Pipettes A polka-dot clad summer classic. 13. Muse - Black Holes And Revelations http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/2564635095.JPG Best Single: Starlight Best Album Track: Map Of The Problematique A brilliant comback from Muse, showing that the success of Time Is Running Out was no fluke. Starlight was robbed of a Top 10 position :arrr:
December 30, 200618 yr Author 12. Christina Aguilera - Back To Basics http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDCAGUIL.JPG Best Single: Hurt Best Album Track: Oh Mother 20s/30s/40s jazz/soul/blues influenced album from the lovely Christina. This double album has some gems, such as the stunning Hurt, the swing of Candyman and the sheer sass of Ain't No Other Man. 11. The Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WIGCD162.JPG Best Single: I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor Best Album Track: Mardy Bum The sensation that is the Arctic Monkeys. Raw gritty norther guitar rock with humour. Mardy Bum is probably my favourite album track this year.
December 30, 200618 yr Author 10. The Kooks - Inside In/Inside Out http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDKOOKS.JPG Best Single: She Moves In Her Own Way Best Album Track: Match Box D2llonevdKs ^ She Moves In Her Own Way Video They may be a bit generic and indie-by-numbers, but the sheer brilliance of Naive and She Moves In Her Own Way in particular make this album well worth it.
December 30, 200618 yr Author 9. Robbie Williams - Rudebox http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RUDEROBBIEPRECD.JPG Best Single: Lovelight Best Album Track: The 90s n6lPmQcm_Xs ^ Lovelight Video Let me set the record straight - I hate the Rudebox single, and this album is so much better than it! there are real gems here, the 80s and the 90s, a narrative of growing up and the TT days, She Madonna, an electro tinged classic about everyones favourite crush, Keep On, with lily Allen...I could go on, but I won't (luckily).
December 30, 200618 yr Author 8. The Fratellis - Costello Music http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PREFRATELLICD.JPG Best Single: Henrietta Best Album track: Creeping Up The Backstairs rMIOHXvKZSM ^ Chelsea Dagger Video Henrietta grabbed my attention back in may (thanks, Aly :P), and then I fell in love with The Fratellis once i had heard smash hit Chelsea Dagger. his is one of theose albums that I have gron to appreciate.

Corrine Bailey Rae - Corrine Bailey Rae - Love This Album! has a nice summery feel, and she has a great voice too  The Pipettes - We Are The Pipettes - I havent bought this album, although what i have heard, i've liked an investment for the future me thinks :D Muse - Black Holes And Revelations - I really didnt think i would like this band :o but i Love 'Supermassive Black Hole' made me buy the album, and its great ^_^ Christina Aguilera - Back To Basics - The First disk, is a real let down for me really, from the Exception Of Oh Mother   But Disk 2 is WOW! Love Every Track. The Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not - although they are WAY Overated, thier album was pretty good, Mardy Bum  The Kooks - Inside In/Inside Out - I'm getting this album soon, as i love all of the Singles From It  Robbie Williams - Rudebox - Really underated album, Rudebox was disgusting, but tracks like She's Madonna 80/90's, all make up for it  The Fratellis - Costello Music - Pretty decent album, havent listened to it alot though, will go back to it :D
December 30, 200618 yr Author 7. Kasabian - Empire http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDKASAB.JPG Best Single: Empire Best Album Track: Stuntman 2Qo2lTANnp4 ^Empire Video Before Empire, I despised Kasabian, seeing them as a cheap Oasis (and therefore an even cheaper Beatles?) rip off, but this soon changed when I took a chnace and got the album. Notable Album tracks are Stuntman (amazing tune), British Legion and Seek And Destroy.
