The 20-year-old will face Robert Milkins in the second round. That is a upset for sure, Shaun was many people's tip for the title.

One of these players will be a 2023 World Snooker Championship semi-finalist.

What an open quarter.

First time since 2018 that someone has won 8-0 in an opening session of a best of 25 match at the Crucible.

Ding Junhui did it against Anthony McGill

The other one, John Higgins against Jack Lisowski!

Victory for Si Jiahui today would give us two Crucible debutants in the quarter-finals for the first time since Tony Drago and Steve James some 35 years ago in 1988.

Many congratulations to Si Jiahui for reaching the quarter-finals of the World Championship, his second ever ranking quarter-final at the age of 20 by beating Robert Milkins 13-7. Great to see from this young talent from China come through, he'll face either Jack Lisowski or Anthony McGill in the quarters.

Given with all of the ten players from China who have been suspended due to possible match fixing, this is just what snooker needs away from the match-fixing scandal.

Si won the second session 6-2 and leads 11-5. Luca needs to win the session this evening 5-3 to stay in the match, anything less and it is all over.

In the other semi-final, Mark Allen leads Mark Selby 5-3.
