Maybe its known already but Steps never had a number 1 single here in Ireland but did manage 1 number 1 album with Gold.
I suppose when you consider that they only had two UK #1 singles and releases by UK acts nearly always chart lower in Ireland, it doesn't seem that surprising they didn't manage one.
What was the closest they came? Surely #2 with 'Heartbeat/Tragedy'?

 

I know 'Stomp' kinda bombed there for a UK #1 single.

Stomps performance was very disappointing here.

True. Though some did underperform by missing the top 20 (5,6,7,8/DSOB/HAN/WANE)

I suppose '5, 6, 7, 8' didn't even peak that high in the UK anyway, DSOB's performance was a crime but I guess it was a late single in the album campaign (same for H&N). As for WANE... I can see why and excuse that one :lol:
