Is the vocal on the original Sam Ryder pitched up? Doesn't really sound like him.

 

The original is bang average for me, sounds a bit like they tried to do something similar to Baddest Of Them All and it didn't really work out. Acoustic is better but it's hardly a career high for Sam or Joel.

I presume the original vocalist is Elphi, Sam just co-wrote the song

To be honest he's only rarely any good for me, so it's not surprising this is trash. I think I only really like Head & Heart, Lionheart and maybe Sorry at a push.

I know this is generally disliked (I personally think it's a birruva bop) but I'm still surprised it seems to have made no impression chartwise.
