April 18, 20232 yr Good Times is a nice Paul moment but not my favourite on the album. Sunshine was the right name for this album as so much of it feels summery to me, weird it was released in November in the end
April 18, 20232 yr Author This song has been a real comfort since we lost Paul, a reminder to remember the good times
April 18, 20232 yr Another strong album track that feels poignant now of course. Paul really shines on it
April 18, 20232 yr Must admit my overriding memory of Boy Like You is the girls doing a leather dance around a chair to Leslie Grantham (Dirty Den) on Children In Need, so it slightly gives me the ick, even though it's a good Rachel track.
April 18, 20232 yr Author This is probably my least favourite on Sunshine, definitely the least disposable but it's not that I dislike it at all. Show Me Your Colours is a better Rachel solo!
April 18, 20232 yr Boy Like You: For some reason this is a song where if I look at the title, I really don't remember how it goes... but when I play it, I like it! It's got a cute chorus. It's a bit of a girl group sounding moment! I could imagine an act like the Honeyz singing it?
April 18, 20232 yr Author Love that Jon gets such a special moment on the album after having so few solos on '7'! A beautiful track, very S Club still despite being a change in pace.
April 18, 20232 yr Nice moment for Jon, I do feel like he was a little underused in the band, for me he was a great singer and deserved to have more lead vocals.
April 18, 20232 yr Meant to say, Sunshine has a similar vibe to Geri Halliwell's Lift Me Up to me. Breezy, sunny MOR pop. The melody is similar in some parts too (just before the chorus).
April 18, 20232 yr Dance Dance dance remains such a bop and what a performance they did of it during the Carnival tour :cheer:
April 18, 20232 yr I'm not huge on Dance, Dance, Dance, but Hannah shining *.* Surprised to read it's a Cathy Dennis song, doesn't sound like the sort of thing she usually wrote for the group.
