Question 10: A Stadium the Spice Girls have played in the UK, that is not Wembley Stadium

 

Some of us stumbled with this question... mwah ha ha. A couple of wrong answers were given. This question is specifically about stadium venues, not arenas... so sadly, The O2 Arena is a wrong answer! And this feels harsh, but Croke Park is a stadium in Dublin, Ireland... the question asks for stadiums in the UK! :cry:

 

For those of us who did answer with a UK stadium, we were spread out over 4 different answers. The most popular answer was Manchester's Etihad Stadium, a venue they played three times in May/June 2019 on the Spice World tour. I'm interested to know what made 7 of you go with this venue!

 

Prior to 2019, the girls had only played two stadiums in their career - Wembley Stadium (which was disallowed for this question) and Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium. That's what made me choose that, rather than any of the 2019 venues! We got some Scottish and Welsh representation too with Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Cardiff's Principality Stadium being named.

This question was all about solo singles, but a few of you went with 'It's Like That', the Run DMC single which famously brought the Spice Girls' run of #1 singles to an end. Sadly a wrong answer for this question, though. :cry: There were only three choices, and all three were chosen... and the top result is actually a tie! 5 of us thought of the chart battle between Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Victoria, while another 5 remembered the Geri vs. Emma battle. Two of you chose Boyzone, who very undeservedly prevented Geri from the top spot with her debut single.
