April 20, 20232 yr Author I haven’t heard it yet so this is all second hand info from a friend, but polydor basically shelved them before flatline. That’s why it was such a chaotic mess and they self funded the video etc Sounds like a really amazing interview

That’s why it was such a chaotic mess and they self funded the video etc I've heard similar before - that they basically had to arrange everything around Flatline themselves, so it's amazing that they got it out at all under those circumstances to be honest. I'd assume if they do ever sign to a label again there'll be "get-out" clauses + plus ownage of masters so they won't be able to pull stunts like that again.
April 20, 20232 yr Author It certainly explains a lot about the flatline release process. I think back then it was perhaps even harder to self-release. They couldn’t leverage social media, they had to try and get onto radio but without a label pushing them that’s really tough. I agree that in light of that, Flatline did pretty well in retrospect. They probably learned a lot of very tough lessons through this process as well

April 26, 20232 yr Author Finally actually listened to this! Such a lovely Interview and some really nice bits of info from them and insights. Like how Round Round is the song that pops off the most live and so they love it (because Siobhan also loves swinging the mic stand about :lol: ) but also it’s the most tiring to perform because they have to dance so much for it

Siobhan spills the beans that they’re making new music and then is all like oh can I say that and Keisha’s like „well it’s too late now lol yeah we’re in the studio“ It’s quite „new“ they said and that they’ve done a couple of things they really like. But getting the lost tapes out first was most important so they could draw the line under that era and actually have it out in proper quality and not in low quality off YouTube as Siobhan said. They didn’t feel right putting anything else out before they had got the lost tapes out
