Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway (867 POINTS)

Kelly kicks off our 2006 rundown chart with the stunning Breakaway, the fifth single taken from the album of the same name. This song spent 13 weeks on the BuzzJack multichart peaking at number 10 and spending 9 weeks in the top 20. The song flopped badly in it's 11th week and dropped a whopping 39 places, however, it climbed straight back up to number 19 the following week.

The song itself was co written by Avril Lavigne who's influence is certainly evident in this contemporary ballad with it's gritty edgy pop feel. The video for 'Breakaway' was filmed at one of the London dates in her recent UK sell out tour in front of 4,000 fans - one of whom was me, YAY :P

Madonna - Get Together (875 POINTS)

In at number 49 is the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna, with Get Together. This song was the third song to be taken from the worldwide smash hit album Confessions On A Dance Floor and is a pounding, dark, bass-heavy floorfiller. As with Kelly, Madonna also spent 13 weeks on the chart, peaking in it's 10th week at number 9, 6 places lower than its predecessor, Sorry.

Madonna - Jump (886 POINTS)

Number 48 also belongs to Madonna with her latest track taken from her 'Confessions' album. The song was released just after Madonna's World Tour, and the tour performance was just as awe inspiring as the video for it, with dancers jumping over hurdles before jumping around the edges of Wembley Arena. The video was set in Japan and saw the unveiling of Madge's new blonde look. Jump spent 10 weeks on chart peaking at number 7 and spent two weeks in the top 10. The song is most certainly a glistening pop masterstroke of synth beats, sparkling rhythms and a relentless, surging chorus.

Mary J Blige and U2 - One (912 POINTS)

At number 47 it's two of the most famous artists in the world: the soul diva, Mary J Blige and the legendary U2. The two giants of popular music first performed the song together at a Hurricane Katrina benefit and recently reprised the performance at the 2006 Grammy Awards. 'One' spent only 9 weeks in the multichart, however, spent 4 of those weeks inside the top 10, eventually climbing up to number 2 in its fourth week, being held off the number 1 spot by Embrace with Nature's Law. The song is taken from Mary J's hugely successful album, The Breakthrough.

The Feeling - Fill My Little World (913 POINTS)

At number 46 we have the first of two entries from one of 2006's top bands, The Feeling. This is the second single taken from their debut album Twelve Stops And Home following the amazing Sewn which charted at number 12 earlier in the year. Fill My Little World did even better than its predecessor, reaching number 7 and staying in the top 10 for 5 weeks. The video saw the band perform amongst reptiles and the song with itsstylistic nod to the retro 70's, soon became everyone's guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure.

Cassie - Long Way 2 Go (917 POINTS)

Long Way 2 Go was the second single to be taken from Cassie's self-titled debut album after the infectious Me And U which reached number 13 earlier in the year. This second single showcases a confident Cassie rap-singing over a rhythmic, infectious bass-line. The track spent an amazing 11 weeks on chart which pretty damn good for a song that never actually made the top 10.

Orson - No Tomorrow (924 POINTS)

In at number 44 are Orson with the Tune that is No Tomorrow. The first single (I believe) taken from their Bright Idea album, and certainly the first of their singles to chart on the multichart, No Tomorrow is still one of the band's most played songs. The track peaked at number 2 in the first ever multichart and spent 5 weeks in the top 10.

The Automatic - Monster (951 POINTS)

What's that coming in at number 43? Why it's The Automatic with their summer smash hit, Monster. Unfortunately the band did not follow up this success with their next single Recover, however, 2007 sees the release of Raoul so only time will tell whether the band are a one hit wonder on the Multichart. Monster stayed in the top 10 for 5 weeks peaking at number 4, but suffered in it's 11th week where it dropped out of the multichart altogether after falling over 20 places. Ah well.

Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away (1015 POINTS)

Kelly Clarkson returns at number 42 with Walk Away the penultimate single taken from the Breakaway album. The song underperformed in the official charts but had far more luck in the multichart, peaking at number 4 and spending 7 of it's 9 weeks in the top 10.'Walk Away' speaks out to anyone who is continual dissapointed by their loved one, delivered with all the angst and attitude the American Idol can muster. With a killer middle 8 and searing guitar riffs and pounding beats to eccentuate the futility of her situation, Kelly goes from strength to strength in her musical and personal development.

Pink - Stupid Girls (1023 POINTS)

As vivacious and outspoken as ever, Pink returns to the fray with her first single on the countdown, 'Stupid Girls', the first track to be taken from her truly sensational album, 'I'm Not Dead'. Serving as a commentary on the new breed of celebrity currently dominating and obsessing the western world's media, Pink spits satirical jibes at the slew of heiresses, glamour models, pap pop artists and D-list celebrities over slick pop beats and an effervescent strumming guitar. The video was also one of the most memorable of the year seeing Pink mocking 'celebrities' such as Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson. Good on her I say. The song managed to climb to the number one spot in it's second week before dropping out of the charts 7 weeks later to make way for her second single, Who Knew.

The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way (1028 POINTS)

The follow up single to Naive, She Moves In Her Own Way actually peaked one position lower than it's predecessor, however remained on chart for 5 extra weeks. This song was one of the few indie tracks that got played over and over again in nightclubs worldwide where drunk people could be heard singing "oh oh" over and over again. Their follow up single Ooh La barely set the charts alight but this song stuck around like genital warts - except this song is a lot better than genital warts.

CHART RUN: [ 12 wks] (29-12-6-17-6-9-13-11-15-24-46-39)

Nothing truly amazing so far.

Clarkson got dull long ago for me - I'm waiting for something fresh.

My fvaourite out of the bunch is Orson so far - love that song

Embrace - Nature's Law (1074 POINTS)

One of the biggest songs of the year on the multichart, Embrace managed to hold onto the top spot for 3 weeks, knocking Pink off number 1 and successfully holding off songs by Gnarls Barkley and U2/Mary J Blige. The song spent 6 weeks in the top ten and then fell to number 12. Then it seemed that BuzzJackers were bored of the song as it fell out of the top 40 completely...shame that.

The Killers - When We Were Young (1092 POINTS)

The first single to be taken from the Killers' "Sam's Town" album, When We Were Young comes in at number 38. The song stayed in the top 10 for 5 weeks which was pretty remarkable considering it never got any higher than number 8.

Jamelia -Something About You (1101 POINTS)

Something About You was the first single to be taken from Jamelia's brand new album, Walk With Me. It performed well in both the Official and BuzzJack charts though some fans were disappointed with the songstress' comeback and it's not surprising as this song was quite weak. Luckily, Jamelia has another song in the 2006 countdown - one that's much better than this.

Razorlight - America (1107 POINTS)

The follow up track to the hugely successful In The Morning, America was a very slow climber in the multichart, taking 5 weeks to actually make the top 10. However, once there the song proved it's staying power by hanging around in the charts for a good 12 weeks.

Girls Aloud - I Think We're Alone Now (1174 POINTS)

One of the few songs of this chart that is still climbing on the main multichart. The follow up single to toe tapping Something Kinda Oooh, I Think We're Alone Now is Girls Aloud at their best. This cover has been climbing for 7 weeks and could even knock Nelly Furtado off the number 1 spot in 2007 giving Girls Aloud their second number 1 single running.

CHART RUN: [7 wks] (27-21-10-4-7-3-2)

I loved Embrace's song - weird as I usually hate them.

The points at the start were so low so meh they should be higher really :(

Sandi Thom - I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (1199 POINTS)

The debut song from UK born Sandi Thom. Yeah the one who found fame on the internet, had a number 1 single on the official charts and hasn't done anything spectacular since (well Lonely Girl is awesome but I dunno what's going on with it at the moment). To make matters worse, I'm pretty sure that most people actually hate this song now. Still did alright in the multichart spending two weeks at number 2, being held off the top spot by Infernal in it's first week and Nelly Furtado in it's second week.

The Feeling - Never Be Lonely (1240 POINTS)

The third single from The Feeling and the highest of their song in the year end chart. Never Be Lonely is an absolute classic and spent a whopping 13 weeks on chart. Overall The Feeling are the 11th biggest artist according to the multicharts this year with 3314 points. I think 2007 will be even better for them with the release of Rosé, the fifth single taken from their album Twelve Stops And Home.

Gwen Stefani - Wind It Up (1262 POINTS)

At number 32 is Gwen Stefani with her comeback single Wind It Up. I personally think this song is hit or miss - you either love it or hate it. I hate it unfortunately, so can't actually think of anything nice to write about it I'm afraid. If you do like it though, the album Sweet Escape is out now I believe.

Lily Allen - Smile (1271 POINTS)

One of 2006's biggest new artists, Lily Allen is at 31 with her debut single, Smile, a song about a girl who gets revenge on her boyfriend. The accompanying video is brilliant (though highly chavvy). Smile was a number 1 hit on both the official and multicharts and paved the way for her follow up single, LDN.

Lily Allen - LDN (1272 POINTS)

Speaking of which! Yes separated by just one point, LDN sneaks in above Smile at number 30. This is my personal favourite Lily Allen song, the lyrics are just wicked. With 3088 points, Lily Allen is BuzzJack's 13th biggest artist this year. Her current song, Littlest Things is currently at number 10 in the charts - could it possibly as big a hit as her two previous songs? Better still, will we see it in the 2007 top 50 songs??

Fergie - London Bridge (1297 POINTS)

At number 29 we have another of my least favourite songs of the year. Fergie parted ways with the Black Eyed Peas (well actually that was a lie - they're in the video). Speaking of the video, did anyone else get frustrated at the amount of glimpses of Tower Bridge instead of London Bridge? No? Just me then. Anyway I know loads of people loved this song and the accompanying album The Dutchess, so I shan't slag it off too much...

Pussycat Dolls - I Don't Need A Man (1331 POINTS)

The fifth single taken from the hugely successful PCD album, I Don't Need A Man was a lot poppier than previous singles. This upbeat number was the follow up to Beep which just missed the top 50, and stayed in the top 10 for five weeks. With a second album on the way, 2007 should be a great year for the Dolls.

Beyoncé - Déjà Vu(1369 POINTS)

2006 was certainly Beyoncé's year! She returned to the charts with this great R&B hit, featuring her boyfriend Jay Z...sound familiar? Some fans were unimpressed by this cheap version of Crazy In Love, but it was a number 1 hit on the official charts and a top 5 hit on the multichart so it can't have been that bad right?

Justin Timberlake feat. T.I - My Love(1371 POINTS)

Speaking of comebacks, Justin Timberlake is most definitely the comeback King of 2006. My Love is the second single taken from his huge Future Sex/Love Sounds album. Teaming up once again with Timbaland and rapper T.I, My Love is just a great dance hit.

Take That - Patience (1386 POINTS)

And perhaps the biggest comeback of 2006, and perhaps the decade, Take That. Patience is one of the biggest songs in the UK at the moment, and was almost as popular on the multichart, peaking at number 2 and still currently in the top 10. Their follow up single, Shine, is released early this year so only time will tell whether it will be as big a hit.

CHART RUN: [10 wks] (42-39-32-28-10-5-2-3-4-6)

Fergie that high is disgusting!

Also great for 2 lashings of Lily

I hope Ev are still to come and I bet either Snow Patrol or Scissor Sisters win :P

Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (1393 POINTS)

One of the oddest songs to get to number 1 in my opinion. But number 1 it got to and at number 1 it stayed for seemingly forever. However, on the multichart it only peaked at number 2 but spent 7 weeks in the top 10, going up and down more times than Jodie Marsh's knickers.

Pussycat Dolls - Buttonz (1505 POINTS)

Teaming up with Snoop Dogg, the Pussycat Dolls updated the album version of this song and released it with a steamy video which made it a surefire hit. This song spent nearly five months on the multichart and as a result makes the Dolls the 8th biggest artist on the multichart for 2006.

CHART RUN: [18 wks] (35-x-30-27-13-10-7-4-16-8-8-12-15-18-26-31-22-25-47)

Rihanna - SOS (1665 POINTS)

One of 2006's biggest club hits courtesy of Rihanna, who had to make do with 3 weeks at number 2 after being kept off of the top spot by Infernal's dance classic From Paris To Berlin. SOS spent 15 weeks on the chart and was one of the only songs to be a re-entry to the chart after spending 2 weeks out of it.

Jamelia - Beware Of The Dog (1689 POINTS)

Jamelia's second single from her Walk With Me album (only £3.97 in Woolworths by the way). I must say I really like this song, much better than Something About You. However, I'm slightly put off after I watched her sing it live on the countdown show for midnight last night. Absolutely dreadful - and then she went and blamed the sound man for something. What a liberty!

CHART RUN: [12 wks] (43-23-20-16-8-7-9-8-3-4-5-8)

Crazy & Buttonz are vile. -_-

SOS pleasing - expected it higher tbh :o

Sugababes - Easy (1699 POINTS)

Into the top 20 then and at number 20 we have the marvellous Sugababes with Easy, the lead single from their Overloaded: The Greatest Hits album. This is easily one of the best songs by the girls and helped them to become BuzzJack's 17th biggest artist of 2006.

Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober (1729 POINTS)

At number 19 are Evanescence with the first single taken from their new album The Open Door. This track spent 15 weeks on the chart and peaked at number 2 being held off of number 1 by the Scissor Sisters. The follow up track Lithium is released early this year so we'll have to see how that one pans out!

Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child (1738 POINTS)

The 2006 dance classic that is Voodoo Child enters the chart at number 18. This song was so popular on BuzzJack it stayed on chart for about 5 months and allowed the Rogue Traders to be the 20th biggest act on the chart

CHART RUN: [20 wks] (38-27-38-34-18-21-9-15-2-1-3-4-9-15-25-30-34-41-39-41-x-41)

Justin Timberlake featuring Timbaland (1797 POINTS)

He's bringing sexyback (yeah!). Mr. JT is back with the infectious SexyBack at 17, and he's also the 12th biggest artist on the multichart this year and the biggest male artist of the year. 2007 could be even bigger for Justin with the release of follow up single What Goes Around or LoveStoned depending on what happens (I'm rooting for LoveStoned myself).

Pink - U +Ur Hand (1872 POINTS)

The second single on the chart from the amazing Pink. In the top 10 for 8 weeks, I was very surprised that this song was not higher up the year end chart. This is the third single taken from I'm Not Dead, a truly amazing album by the way - I thoroughly recommend it if people haven't bought it yet.

Christina Aguilera - Hurt (1997 POINTS)

The gorgeous second single from Christina's Back To Basics album. What can I say? It's a brilliant song that's still going strong on the multichart with a 6 place climb this week. The third single Candyman is out in March so be sure to rush out and buy it :P

Nelly Furtado - All Good Things (Come To An End) (2040 POINTS)

BuzzJack's Christmas number 1! This song is one of the best songs from Nelly's Loose album and is a deserving number 1. Her next single Say It Right is out next year so 2007 will be another good'un for Nelly who is also touring!

Infernal - From Paris To Berlin (2040 POINTS)

Another song which I thought would be top 10! Here is Infernal with their summer hit From Paris To Berlin which was the main song that allowed them to become the 14th biggest artist of the year on the multichart.

CHART RUN: [ 18 wks] (14-1-1-1-1-1-6-5-14-15-12-27-23-25-45-35-45-37)

Cascada - Everytime We Touch (2066 POINTS)

The 16th biggest artist of the year on the Buzzjack multichart is Cascada, and they enter the chart at number 12 with another smash hit anthem, Everytime We Touch. Not being a great fan of dance music I don't think there's much I can say about this...

Pink - Who Knew (2113 POINTS)

Pink's highest entry on this chart just misses out on the top 10. However, she can take pride in the fact that she is officially BuzzJack's 2nd highest artist on the multichart this year with a massive 5301 points!! This woman is a legend! I hope 2007 is just as great for Pink.

CHART RUN: [22 wks] (22-8-3-2-3-3-8-7-7-8-13-14-16-14-16-27-29-33-33-32-25-45)
