Starstruck spent 6 weeks on Bubbling Under, peaking at #7. It was the only album track from The Fame to enter Bubbling Under, not to mention that it sold nearly 1 million pure copies in the US (platinum eligible) with zero promotion.

Radio was just waiting for her to announce the song as an official single to take it to #1. Rihanna, Katy and Kesha would never waste a smash hit like that. It's a pity that even in her imperial era there were mismanagement.

I have fought for how I love you

| 40 // Sine From Above // 7.39

| 41 // Look What I Found // 7.31

Just missing out on the top 40 is Look What I Found from the ASIB soundtrack. Lyrics from the song were featured in the first trailer for the film and the song is about how a lover is able to mend a broken heart and help Ally to carry on with her missing pieces now being complete. The Elton feature in Sine From Above kick starts the top 40. Featured in the final section of the album, but it is almost a centrepiece of the album as Gaga explores the power of music to save people. The 'sine' symbol features on the album artwork too and has become a key symbol of the era. I Don't Know What Love Is marks another loss for the soundtrack. This time, the ballad comes at a crucial point in the film, as Ally and Jackson decide to cement their love for each other and get married. Two tracks from Born This Way tie next. Bad Kids is an anthem for rebels. It featured an extended verse, included in the album's lyric book, but it never ended up being performed at the Ball as Gaga intended it to. Finally, Americano is Gaga's political statement on immigration laws and gay marriage. It's a rousing mariachi, techno-house record dedicated to disenfranchised communities in America.

Americano is one of my least faves :( it's far too high here.

The others here are great though, especially I Don't Know What Love Is and Sine From Above

Americano - trash

Bad Kids - great

I Don't Know What Love Is - great

Sine From Above - good

Look What I Found - so so

| 34 // Why Did You Do That? // 7.65

| 35 // Beautiful, Dirty, Rich // 7.61

| 36 // Enigma // 7.46

From Chromatica we lose Enigma. One of the first songs recorded for the album, it helped to shape its concept and sound. Way back to the debut, the promo single Beautiful, Dirty, Rich is out. The song was written early in Gaga's career, while she was still signed to DefJam. The record label claimed that they "didn't get it" but the song gained some underground success until it was eventually included on the debut album and helped her to seal a new record deal. She states the song summarises her time on the New York scene on her journey of discovery. Why Did You Do That? was written while Gaga was on the Joanne world tour and was later included in A Star is Born. The track is both retro and modern and in the film, Ally performs it on Saturday Night Live. From ARTPOP, the tour's closing number, Gypsy is a song about being on the road and being lonely while doing so. She states in the making of the song, that she sees her fans and the various countries she visited while touring as her home. Finally here, we say goodbye to Angel Down. The work tape dropped out a while ago, the but the original album's closer has done significantly better. The song was inspired by the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in 2012; a case that led to huge press and outcries about gun laws and racism in the US.

"Why do you look so good in those jeans?

Why'd you come around me with an ass like that?" :music:

This is a great bunch - like all the songs (I think like all the remaining songs tbh)

Really loved that she included Angel Down in TCB setlist.

Enigma is great and I particularly enjoy the remix of it on Dawn! B,D,R, is vintage Gaga but not one I return to outside of listening to the debut album. WDYDT? is fun but inessential on the soundtrack - I prefer the ballads! Gypsy is my favourite from this section - I wish it closed the ARTPOP album. A true love letter to being on the road and all the trials and tribulations that come with it.
Loved seeing I Don't Know What Love Is so high, it really is one of her underrated gems that most fans seem to enjoy.

| 29 // Speechless // 7.89

| 30 // Boys, Boys, Boys // 7.82

| 31 // Hair // 7.82

Hair is out first, the empowering feel-good anthem from Born This Way. It was released as a promo single before the album's release and was one of many songs in contention to become a single at some point. Gaga stated that it was one of her favourite songs on the album. With equal points, we also lose Boys, Boys, Boys. This song was also planned to be a single but plans changed and The Fame Monster was pushed earlier and released instead - what could've been!? The basis of the song was conceived on the first day that Gaga met RedOne - the rest was history. Speechless becomes the second track from The Fame Monster to drop out. The ballad was written by Gaga to convince her dad to undergo heart surgery, and it acted as a message for her younger fans to respect their parents. It was performed multiple times during the promotional tour of the album, including with Elton John at the Royal Variety Show. The title track from Artpop is out next. This was the first song made for the album and also the one that the team spent the longest working on. It's a change of pace from much of the rest of the album and represents the centre of the album, its soft inner core, never exploding or erupting. Finally Electric Chapel from Born This Way closes this section. The song was included on a Gagavision episode prior to the album's release and referenced in the Judas music video. The song is about needing to feel safe when finding love.

A great section! Hair is brilliant and so feel-good. B,B,B, hasn't always been a favourite but I enjoy it a lot more now! Speechless and Artpop are both brilliant in the context of their albums too and ofc Electric Chapel is yet another Born This Way gem

Goddess of Love, please take me to your leader

| 22 // Sinner's Prayer // 8.18

| 23 // Venus // 8.12

| 24 // Free Woman // 8.07

| 25 // I Like It Rough // 8.00

| 25 // Before I Cry // 8.00

Into VERY GOOD territory now as we enter songs with an average rating of 8+ :o Starting off proceedings we have a tie between Before I Cry and I Like It Rough - two wildly different sides to Gaga. The former is a heart-wrenching ballad from the soundtrack album. Although it doesn't feature directly in the film it has done brilliantly here and remains a fan-favourite on the album. In the song, Ally is in despair and laments for her lover to be by her side before she fully breaks down. Then we switch gears completely with the debut eras sex-charged jam. It was first released as a bonus track for the Canadian/Australian editions, and later became a standard track on all other releases of the album. Free Woman from Chromatica received some remixes during the era and a few radio adds in France, was included in remixed form on a Don Pérignon commercial but never became a fully fledged single around the world. It was also performed at the Chromatica Ball and represents how freeing music can be, a particularly poingnant song given the song was released in the midst of a global pandemic when people around the world were in lockdown. Love it or hate it, Venus has managed a very healthy average here. The first promo single from the album, it's a crazed, frenzied song that takes us around the solar system and beyond. The song was performed on X Factor and pushed for what seems like an eternity but never became a single in the end - for the best? Verdict is still out. And finally we lose Sinner's Prayer from Joanne. In this song Gaga reveals her weaknesses but wishes that she is loved despite these. It was the first non-single to be performed live from the album but oddly wasn't included on the eventual tour.

Venus this high has me SHOCKED. Did only the ARTPOP stans come out to vote in this?? I don't think so because so many ARTPOP tracks left early but I am shocked Venus has done as well as it has?
