I know your story but tell me again

| 11 // Is That Alright? // 8.85

Very narrowly missing out on the top 10, we have the highest song from the A Star Is Born soundtrack! Is That Alright? is included in the credits of the movie and it plays after that mournful, heart-breaking final scene. It is a love song about devoting yourself to another - it is remisicent, whilst also looks to the future and wonders whether the lovers will still be together in their final moments. The stunning song puts Gaga/Ally in a vulnerable position, asking repeatedly if it's ok that she is loved and loves forever. Without properly featuring in a scene in the film, it holds a poingnant position in the closing credits and is the song that plays as audiences leave, reeling from the dramatic events that close the film.

A stunner  The song that connects with me the most out of the soundtrack (and one of those that does so overall for me too). A gem and in my top 10 Gaga songs of all time. I love it so, so much

I will have it as my first dance song at my wedding!

| 10 // Diamond Heart // 8.93

We begin the top 10 with Joanne's highest rated track (it has outdone ARTPOP and ASIB!). Diamond Heart kick starts the album and kick started the tour in loud, abrasive, confident attitude. The song tells the story of a girl working as a go-go dancer to make ends meet, lyrically the kind of broken American dream Bruce Springsteen sings about. Gaga confirms that the girl is in fact, her. She describes the song as completely autobiographical - there are clues throughout the song suggesting it is about Taylor Kinney although this was never confirmed. The song was performed at the Dive Bar Tour and the Joanne World Tour and has gone on to become a signature song of the era, representing many of its themes and tones.

| 09 // Government Hooker // 9.04

Government Hooker from Born This Way is up next, a song that has been gradually building in streams recently but hasn't fully taken off as an album track.. yet! The hard hitting club banger is one of Gaga's favourite songs on the album and was DJ White Shadow's favourite. Gaga's security guard features on the track in the spoken word moments and Gaga teasingly goes back and forth with him throughout the song. The song satirises both the government and "plastic pop stars" in their bids to achieve success. The song was inspired by Marilyn Monroe and other political mistresses.

| 08 // Replay // 9.07

Next up we have Chromatica's Replay. The song appears in the middle section of the album and has gone on to become a firm fan favourite, helped massively by its iconic performance at the Chromatica Tour. In the song, Gaga erupted into frantic dancing and screaming for the chorus and the elctrifying performance took off on social media, with many saying it was the highlight of the night. The song is about monsters that haunt Gaga and scars that repeatedly taint her mood. It's a perfect example of how the album explores painful tropes in dance, vibrant, energetic ways.

Should've been the lead single (maybe with slightly tweaked verses)

1. Gypsy

2. Sexx Dreams with better verses

3. DWYW with BASICALLY AANYONE else

4. ARTPOP

5. Applause to finish the era
