It was fantastic run. It's not only British record, but also the best European result on this distance since 1:55.19 from Slovenian Jolanda Cheplak in 2002 year.

Kerr is nowhere near as likeable though, Keeley gives off humble vibes whereas Kerr is way more arrogant and unlikeable (although personally I think this is a trait athletics needs!).

Maybe it was the most impressive result in female running in 21st century since 21.63 on 200m for Dafne Schippers (2015) when she beat European record from Marita Koch (1979).

I hope Keely does win SPOTY, her run to win Olympic gold was brilliant, highlight of the Games so far. She is the tenth British athlete to win a gold medal in athletics at the Olympics.

Why UK don't have seperated awards for Sportsman of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year ?

 

For sample Lithuania did it since 2014.
